for sale is a very nice serpentine quartersawn oak dresser with an intricate cut beveled mirror housed within its frame. to cut that mirror today with the bevel would cost a minimum of 800.00. at any rate this is a wonderful solid dresser with no issues to report other than the mirror is a bit smokey and has lost a wee bit of silver. it has great carving with much detail. the top is solid quartersawn oak of the highest quality. hardware is all original. the casters are new. the top is serpentine as well as the front. it is 50 inches wide at it widest point. 24 inches deep at the widest point. it is 82 inches tall being 36.5 inches to the top surface of the dresser. it has a claw type foot. i managed to dig this out of an upstairs bedroom set. i have included a few pictures of the bed. Up for auction we have an authentic 19th century lift top vanity or dressing table which is Adams style and hand painted. The top features a scene of a courting couple dancing while a lute player plays off to the right. The corners of that scene are embellished with fronds and torches. Rose swags adorn the drawer fronts. The sides each feature a hand painted landscape scene of town as seen from the rural hills. Color scheme of rose, dusty turquoise, ivory. The squared off legs have brass collars at the top. The hardware appears to be original. Two of the drawers are stuck closed and we didn't want to force them. There is also a center pullout flat surface that is stuck closed. The two side compartments are lined in silk inside. The silk has some stains but is intact. The center shallow compartment is wood. It has the original finish, which I believe is flame burled walnut, with a beautiful wood grain and patina. The end pieces on the base and the mirror supports are carved. The drawers have dovetail joints. Keyholes and the original glass pulls(keys are not included) I purchased this dresser in Atlanta 25 years ago. I was told it was a Civil War era piece dating to the 1860s. Although I have no way of verifying that. The drawers are very large and roomy. This is typical of pieces made at that time. As clothes were stored flat in drawers. This is a large. Solid piece measuring 54 in wide x 26 in deep x 35 in high. The mirror with frame measures approx. 46 in across x ... more37 in high. Overall. This piece is in good condition, but it is old and does have some imperfections. The top surface is very blotchy from what were probably water stains. Miniature American Classical(Late Federal) Mahogany Chest of Drawers New England c. 1810-20 Item# 130105RQY17 This is a very fine American Classical(Late Federal) Mahogany Chest of Drawers. A Salesman's Sample of Miniature dimensions c. 1810-20. It is crafted of solid mahogany(top, sides, drawer fronts, drawer secondaries, columns) mahogany veneers(stile facings on right and left of drawers and drawer blades) white pine secondaries(back, bottom, interior blocking) rosewood(knobs) and unidentified stringer inlays(appear to be holly or satinwood) The top is rectangular in form. Projecting over the front and sides with tight turrets at the corners over spiral-turned columns- these complex formations transition from a series of tight ring turnings into the spiral balusters over tiny urns and completed with a series of complex ring turnings ... moreover cork feet. The columns define the chest, greatly elevating the form with tasteful embellishment that does not distract from the overall composition. The graduated two over three drawers retain their original rosewood knobs, these flanking the inverted tear-drop escutcheons and framed as a whole in the rectangular stringer inlays. Dovetail construction dominates the chest. Through dovetails securing the sides of the case to the bottom and presumably to the interior framing upon which the top is set(unable to verify without removing the top) The back board is deeply chamfered to slide into rabbets in the sides and is secured with glued blocks inside the case and tacks along the lower edge. The drawers are likewise dovetailed front and back, the bottom board on four of the five with mitered edges to slide into rabbeted drawer sides: one of the tiny drawers varies in construction from the other four. This"Charles Eastlake" style lady's dresser has been in our family for more than 140 years. It belonged to my great grandmother. A gift from her new husband on their wedding day in the early 1870s. She was 15; he, 31. The dresser is made from deep red cherry or mahogany wood. The piece is in wonderful condition except for a few minor flaws(shown) For five generations of women, it has never been used for anything but its original purpose, a lady's vanity above and three-drawer clothes chest below. A 7 3/4 x 16 1/4 inch marble insert is centered on the top front surface. In addition to three large drawers below. It has jewelry or glove drawers on each side of the top and two small knick-knack shelves on either side of the mirror. The total height from the original porcelain casters to the rounded finial on top is 75 inches. ... moreThe maximum depth from front to back is 18 1/2 inches and the width is 35 1/4 inches. The mirror is on a swivel. Allowing it to be adjusted back and forth vertically. The mirror dimensions are 11 1/4 x 19 inches and the unbeveled glass is too clear to be original. The three drawers below have interior dimensions of 29 inches wide, 13 1/2 deep. The front of each lower drawer has a burled inset(probably faux) typical of Eastlake furniture. The glove and jewelry drawers are 6 1/2 inches wide, 13 1/2 inches deep. All 8 knobs are original. This dresser was manufactured in an American factory or shop. Probably in the Midwest, following design concepts of English architect and designer Charles Eastlake. His ideas were disseminated in his book Hints on Household Taste in Furniture. Upholstery and other Details, first published in England in 1868. And then in United States in 1872. Eastlake pieces, though contemporary with Victorian furniture, 1870-1890, are actually anti-Victorian. He called for angular, notched and carved pieces, deliberately opposed to the curved shapesof French Baroque Revival Styles prevalent in the Victorian era. for sale a wonderful pierced carved victorian rococo walnut dresser vanity or possibly a shaving stand. depends on what you want as to what you call it. it is a great piece presented in original finish with wonderful patina. it is in near mint condition with the exception of a small repair. Looks as if screws have been replaced on one of the back swivel mount pieces. there are no weakness or problem and the function is perfect, but it has been tweaked a bit. it is 30 inches wide and sits on great carved rococo feet. the base has three hinged caskets for whatever you want to put in them. it is 12 inches deep, extending one inch behind the mirror base. the mirror base and harp are of wonderful form and design. the base and harp are pierced carved in the finest fashion. it is 33 inches in overall height. the harp houses an oval frame which contains ... morethe original mirror that is nearly perfect. there is the minutest amount of sliver loss. these are hard to find especially in the shape this one is in. the three caskets are a 9.5 inch oval in the center and two 6.5 inch round ones on either side of the central oval one. someone will be proud to own this great piece. it may be picked up at my home and shipped at buyer's expense. i have owned about 4 of these in 40 years, none any nicer than this one, but all sold for a lot more than i am starting this one at. i had one that i had a little dresser base for it to sit on. it sold for about 3000 a few years back. anyway, if you are on your toes you can get a bargain here. a rare and fair find and wonderful in every way.

American Empire Antique Wig Chest Dresser Crotch Flame Mahogany~Marble Top 1825
Here we have a very Rare Empire Dresser for your consideration. This is a very fine Wishbone Mirrored Dresser with side wig curio cabinets. These dressers have always been the Cadilac of Empire Dressers. But this one is one of the finest we have ever seen. The burled or Flame Mahogany is fantastic. The colors are just beautiful. We do not have the exact history. But the party we bought the dresser from, told us that this dresser was saved in Katrina from the Huricane in New Orleans. It was transported north and sold to raise money for the people who once owned it there. We bought it from the next party who purchased it. The dresser is of such fine quality, and has all original parts. The only thing it may need is some new screws in the back when the wig cabinets mount. At the moment it is all assembled and they were not needed. But when the ... moredresser comes to its new home, that is one addition we would suggest is new screws in the back area. The wood on every side is pristine on this piece. The only thing you would find is normal wear from a dresser of such a grand age. All that is needed is a nice polish and this piece is ready to set up and be displayed with pride. The dresser is 77" tall by 43" wide by 21" deep. The mirror attaches on each curio side with wooden screws and original knobs. The drawer fronts have the carving at the top and bottoms and the matched grain of the wood is outstanding. This piece could be by the famous cabinet maker Thomas Day. As even the sides of the dresser have fantastic matched graining. The hand made dove tails and brass locks, are all top notch and fine quality. The marble top inset is beautiful thick Italian Marble with nice grain and detail. There are no chips, nor cracks on the marble. It could use a polish from a marble professional. But the patina and wear only adds charactor to the piece. The drawers are all working and in great condition. The piece is not on rollers, and we have not turned it over to see if it ever had them or not. We are selling this beauti

Antique Big Victorian Bedroom Decor Furniture Dresser 1850 Mirror Brush Set
Hello- This is a very special True Victorian Hairbrush Mirror from at the LATEST 1850! The Amber-Yellow glass indicates this. And is never reproduced. When looking into the Etched Amber Glass, Your face is surrounded by the flowers just like my camera is if you can imagine, and your face has an amber glow. I placed it on the 50's mirror so that you can see the difference in the glass's. The big round mirror is part of the set. The Victorian Curling is genuine, I'm not positive of it's age, But these were used even into the 1920's. The brush measures approx. 10" long x 3 1/3" at the widest. And has a wooden brush area to hold the bristles. The metal is a bit tarnished from age, a magnet does not stick to it and I don't know what kind of metal it is. There is some loss to the etching of the flowers, but not ... moretoo much and is still in wonderful condition. The curling iron is approx. 10" long. With a thin crimping rod for"pin curl" size curls. The round mirror has some tarnishing from age. A magnet does not stick to it. The mirror measures approx. 12" long x 9" at the widest. Late 1800's Marble top/Maple oak wash stand signed!
This awesome piece came out of my great. Great, great grand parents house if Norfolk, CT in the late 1800's. The wood is in excellent condition. Marble is perfect, no cracks, splits or signs of breakage. The marble does have some smoke damage, my house burnt down as a kid and yet this survived, but nothing that can't be buffed out. The stand has a skeleton key that locks both the drawer and the cabinets. It is signed by the original maker. These pieces are rare, especially in this condition. It does have a side table that goes with it. I have it in a separate posting but would like sell them as a set. Serious bidders only!

Solid oak with a very old refinish job taht shows quite a bit of wear. Note the back left corner in the pictures, that is where it met the mirror rack and is is different from the back right side. Whoever refinished it put a patch in the back left corner of the top to fill in where the rack was. Great little piece that will work in most any room. Description Large Victorian Heavily Carved Gothic Revival Dresser. One of the most fantastic dressers it's ever been my pleasure to own. C arving to most surfaces including the edge of th e plank oak lower se ction top. The oak has aged wonderfully with wear through in many places to the natural wood colour. The patination is great and tells the tale of it's hi story beautifully. The dresser itself is constructed in a quality rustic method. The upper section planks are pushed thro ugh and pegged. The lower section is made of oak throughout and is a str uggle for 2 people to carry. It's THAT heavy! The whole lower unit is peg construction. That's the highest quality cabinet construction method. Even now. The handles are G eorgian style batwing one s. They could well be G eorgian ones from an early cabinet. The centre section ... morehas four drawer fronts on it. The upper two are a drop down drinks cabinet/bureau, the lower two are a pull out nine bottle wine cell ar. One ha ndle here do es have it's swinging section missing. This is on one of them tha t isn't used luckily. You don't notice it unless you look for it! T he cupboards at each side are large and have a drawer above with complimentary carving to their edges. There is a nod to the arts and crafts movement on the up per section. Description Wonderful Victorian Dresser in Solid Pine. Great old dresser in the best material for far mhouse or country kitchen use. U nusual to find in such small proportions. Usually th ese 19th Century ones are quite large. Here is one that will go in most kitchens. It's a t wo wi de dresser. The base is two short drawers o ver two long. They all have batwing style(Georgian) handles and lo ck surrounds. The upper section is carved and shaped. It has an unusual rail presumably for tea-towels or cloths. There are some very old cup hooks screwed into the front edge, these are of varying designs, they're all very old and again add to the feel. T h e whole piece feels provincially made. Antique Vintage Oak Venier 2pc Chest of Drawers
This is another item I am listing for a neighbor/friend. His parents purchased this at an auction about 40 yrs ago and at that time it was said to be about 100 yrs old. He does not have any documentation to prove this although. He moved into a place a few yrs ago that had a leak in the roof which did some damage he did however totally restore it and resealed it. 1850's empire dresser with original mirror
This is an circa 1850's walnut empire dresser. Everything is original. One mounting post on the left mirror arm is missing at the bottom. And the position post for the right arm is missing at the side. Dimensions are 42.5" wide. 42" tall(mirror adds an additional 30" and is 20" deep. I will meet the buyer halfway. Up to 90, miles for pick up. The wood is in beautiful condition. With one or two minor scratches.
