Antique Late 1800's Corbel reclaimed architectural light green!
This stunning set of light green corbels were reclaimed from a Victorian house situated along the Ohio River. The home these came from was a frequent stop on the under ground railroad. Sadly the home was torn down but I was able to reclaim these architectural pieces. I painted the tops to look like marble and used them as wall sconces but the winning bidder can use them as they see fit. The light green color is original( with many layers of paint and some flaking) and the wood is in excellent condition given the age. All of the adjacent homes along the River were built around the same time. Between 1840 and 1880. These are ready to hang and can be painted to match any decor. Priced to sell. FOUR HUGE SOLID BRAZILIAN ROSEWOOD CORBELS SHELF BRACKETS MID CENTURY DANISH
These are really great pieces. They are hand carved solid Brazilian rosewood and are from the early 1900s. Some misguided person painted them white at some point and they have been partially stripped but need finishing. They are fifteen inches long by a inch and five eights thick. The flat base is four inches and the wool is solid. The wood in these is amazing, it has lots of figure and a beautiful color, in the pictures two appear darker because they have a light oil on them but when they are cleaned up they will all be the same color. Solid old growth Brazilian(especially this old) is very hard to come by these days and these are just beautiful pieces.

Early Florence School Italian Marble Corbel With Bronze Relief Of Cherubs Signed
For sale is a unique object of which we do not know much about. This piece came out of an old upstate New York home. It appears to be an Italian carved marble corbel of some sort with an applied bronze sculpture relief of cherubs frolicking around with a goat and drinking milk. We believe this piece to be 19th century. The Italian marble is handcarved with intricate pattern work on the mantle section. On the front is an applied bronze sculpture with a beautiful aged patina. this bronze sculpture is a work of art in and of itself. Beautifully rendered and cast with great attention to detail. On the bronze relief sculpture there is Greek wording. We have not translated the Greek lettering other than the word BIOS on the very end. This work of art is hand signed in the marble on the back. We cannot make out the name other than"PROF" ... morea name. And then the word FIRENZE which we believe is the Italian world for Florence Italy. Therefore the attribute this piece to the Florence school. Is aged quite well and we believe was made as a work of art. It is quite heavy weighing roughly 35 pounds. It measures. 8 3/4" high x 8" wide x 6 1/2" thick. The top measures 11 1/2" long x 5" wide. The pair of tall brackets have great shape and finials at the top. They are made of oak with alligator-ed paint. Each is 37.5 inches tall with 2.5 wide and 2.25 inches deep. The small set has Eastlake Spoon Carvings and carved finials. They are made of walnut and are currently painted. Each is 20.5 inches tall. 2 inches wide and 1.25 inches tall. Your bid buys the lot. The acorn carved posts measure 17 1/4" tall. 3 1/4" wide, 3 1/4" deep at the widest point. One of the pieces has a 5 1/2" piece of wood missing, 1/2" x 1/2" deep. It doesn't affect the front of the piece. They are beautifully carved. They probably came off the front of an old fireplace. These have many different uses.
