Condition: Used Location: Fairfield, United States We are pleased to be offering today what I believe to be a bench made custom solid tiger sawn oak Chippendale raised panel all the way around cabriole ... moreleg flat top desk that dates from the 1890's. The desk comes with four raised panel dove tail drawers that retain all the original hardware. The center where the legs go have a reverse cove carving, which I have never seen in oak. It has a scallop bottom trim base, raised panels all the way around and a wide bevel edge on the solid tiger sawn oak top. The only negatives I see on the desk is that there is a little wear on the edge of the top from rubbing against something and there is a split going down the center of the top. We most likely could pull the top off and repair the top, which wouldn’t make a huge difference, but it is an expensive repair. The desk itself is high end quality.

Condition: Unspecified Location: Napoleon, United States Fantastic Victorian era cylinder top desk. Made from oak with pine secondary woods. Panelled back and sides. The large upper cabinet has flexible. Movable ... moreshelves and period glass doors. It rests atop a cylinder or roll top desk area with a small drawer and several pigeon holes. The writing surface is covered in black felt and pulls out to provide a larger area. There is a large overhanging drawer as well as two smaller drawers and a cabinet below, for even more storage. All of the drawers have brass pulls and escutcheons and dovetail joints. The lower area is spoon carved in a charming leaf pattern. This piece most likely dates from the late 1800's. This piece is in good condition. But does have some cosmetic flaws, as is to be expected in a piece of this age. Several of the escutcheons are missing as well as the door pulls on the upper cabinet. The drawer pulls are loose as well and one of the escutcheons looks like it has been reattached. There is a piece of wood missing from the molding below the desk top as well. See picture) There is also significant wear to the felted writing surface. No other significant damage or repairs. The entire desk stands about 88" 7'4" tall. It is 36" wide and 24" deep at the largest points. This piece is listed for'local pickup only' We encourage buyers to stop by our 11.000 square foot shop to preview this amazing piece in person. Vintage Oak School Library Laboratory Desk and Stool
What you are looking at is a vintage high-top style desk with stool that belonged to my father. He acquired it as surplus from the Philadelphia School District(where he worked until he retired) But I don't know much more about it. It has a trademark from John E. Sjostrom Co. on the underside of the stool as well as the school district's tag. My guess is that it's from the 1940's or earlier, but have not found much information on it, so don't take my word for it. Being a used desk from a school, it has etchings and writing on it from students on the top of the desk as well as the stool, but it looks to still be in good shape considering it's likely age. I tried to capture this in the pictures. It looks like it may have had a drawer in it originally under the desk top, but we never had it. It's a cool piece overall, ... moreand I'd love to keep it, but I have no room for it. The desk stands approximately 41 inches tall, 28 inches wide and 25 inches deep, and the stool fits under it. This is an Antique Oak"S" Roll Top Desk with raised panels that has been beautifully restored. This desk is from my Grandparents home as I can not ever remember not seeing it there and I am almost 50 years old. I do not have a maker on this desk but have to believe that it is from the early 1900's. I would love to display this in my home. But my home will not accommodate it. It is 54 inches long. 3 feet wide and 4 foot tall. It is Oak and it has 4 drawers on the left hand side and 3 drawers on the right hand side. There is a brass plate in which to lock the desk. But I do not have a key for it. The colors and details are beautiful. With it being so old. There are some imperfections as you can see. On the left hand pull out there are little holes in the wood. Not sure if they were put there by someone or if something happened ... moreto the wood. On the back there is a knick of wood missing as you can see in the picture. Two of the drawers bottoms have been replaced and two of the drawers have what looks like as stains, but it does not get on anything. The drawer measures approximately 22" x 21" Wolverine label inside of drawer. Drawer is dovetail construction. It was made by the Wolverine Manufacturing Co. Detroit, Michigan which was organized in 1887 and ceased doing business around 1912. There are a couple of water stains; does need a good cleaning. It will add a lot of character and charm to any room. This was my Grandmothers table for many years and then given to my mother and then myself. Vintage Antique Solid Oak Navy Machinist's Standing Desk
This is an old solid oak standing desk workbench taken from off a Navy ship. It was used by a machinist. There is a center drawer that pulls out with a tightly woven heavy cotton cloth base that was used to catch the little parts as the machinist was repairing.whatever needed repair. There is a lip around three sides to prevent items from falling off. Two top drawers. Three smaller drawers on either side. Wonderful carved legs. An awesome piece. Antique 5' wide Oak Roll Top Desk and leather upholstered swivel oak chair
Lovely Oak Roll Top Desk with Oak Chair with leather upholstery. You can tell from the photos there are some scratches and wear on the leather seat of the chair. The cloth underneath the roll top part is starting to show signs of wear and could be developing a split on the left side. The desk comes apart into pieces for moving. Have owned for 25 years and used daily. Photos taken with and without flash to show off the warm oak colors. Photos of the chair upholstery also shown with and without flash so you can see the brown color in both lights. Desk and chair both have excellent finishes so no re-finishing necessary.
