It has lovely carved accents and trim. The key is intact with it and the little side supports come out automatically when the front writing desk surface is lowered. Someone has unfortunately drilled a hole in the back that is about 2" in diameter. The desk has 4 drawers with all of the original knobs intact. It stands 41" tall at the trim at the back, 40" tall at the top, is 41" wide at the feet, 37" wide at the top, and is a total of 22" deep at the bottom, and 19" deep at the top.

Secretary desk with fold down writing surface and glass front upper bookshelf
Selling my childhood secretary desk that my parents purchased at an antique store in Vermont back in the 1980's. I am not sure of the purchase price. The age, or the wood type. The stain is a chestnut color. The desk are two parts. The approximate dimensions of the lower secretary desk part are 36 inches tall, 34.5 inches wide, 19 inches deep. The approximate dimensions of the upper bookshelf part are 33 inches tall. 32 inches wide at the bottom(where it rest on the secretary desk) and 36.5 inches tall(from the top moulding trim) 11.5 inches deep. The drawers have dovetail construction and all four drawers open and close fully. The handles. Hinges, and hardware appear to be brass(not positive of the material) One of the eight handles came out of the hinge socket. I have the handle loose so it can be reattached and repaired. The bookshelf ... moreunit has a glass front. The glass is in good shape with some sticker residue which needs to be cleaned. The very top of the bookshelf has a circular mark which appears to be where the previous owner(s) kept a plant. On the fold down writing desk there is a small chip in the wood on the left hand corner. There are four holes on top of the secretary desk where the bookcase is attached also there are scratches and wear from the bookcase rests(these are not visible when the desk is attached) The back has rough unfinished wood showing. The fold down writing surface is fully functional. It folds down and rests on the upper drawer which pulls out. Feel free to ask any questions if you need further description or clarification. Height- 80 1/2" Depth- 18 1/2" Width- 36 1/2" Chippendale/Govenor Withrup mahogany secretary desk with ball and claw feet. Solid brass hardware, key locks on cabinet and secretary desk foldout. In the cubby holes. There are two hidden drawers that can be pulled out. It has ball and claw feet and the original pulls. Front inlaid cover and serpentine drawers. Lattice work doors, fully intact, circa 1940's. Great shape.

hand made Italian secretary desk with a cylinder roll shaped door on the desk with a antique key lock the top is a cabinet with 2 doors that have an exceptional inlay design in them the whole unit has many different inlay designs all round it there is no damage to this item it is very beautiful. it is 93.5' tall and the top of the unit is 42.5' wide and 11' deep the bottom is 46' wide and 22' deep it is all one piece and does not come apart the top and bottom are connected please let me know if you have any more questions also shipping is not offered for this item as it is too big must pick up
