Condition: Unspecified Location: Moorpark, United States I am not an expert but an antique furniture appraiser looked at this piece recently and stated this is a unique desk that he's never seen one quite ... morelike it. It was likely made in the early 1900's. Made of oak. And has a spooncarved front. There are no identifying markings. It is in excellent shape and it has the original finish. Brass fittings show a bit of tarnish but should clean up easily with a little TLC. Three of the posts on the brass rail at the top are loose but can be easily secured with a little bit of attention. One of the rail ends is stripped so that will need to be secured as well. Otherwise this piece is ready for your home. I would be happy to provide more detailed photos if requested. I hate to part with such a beautiful and unique item but we no longer have the room and it just doesn't fit our decor. The dimensions are 40 1/2” tall its tallest point. 33 1/2“ wide at its widest point at the base, and 19” deep when closed,and 34“ deep when opened. Local pickup only.

Gorgeous Antique Maddox Governor Winthrop Drop Front Desk
This beautiful antique desk is is great condition. It was made by the Maddox company(see the picture with the company stamp in the drawer) The drawers all slide nicely and the detailing on the inside is perfect. The drop down lid opens to reveal a beautiful multi-drawer cubbyhole interior with a carved door and two cleverly disguised hidden compartments behind the multi-turned spindles. There is also a horizontal space beneath the cubbies perfect for sliding paper or books out of the way. There are four serpentine dovetail drawers and the base has multi-ply molding and four ball and claw feet(which I believe are in the Chippendale style) Original hardware. I try to include as many pictures as possible to give a good idea of the condition. I think it's beautiful as is but if the few small imperfections bother you the quality of this piece ... moremakes it a good contender for refinishing. Approx. 35" wide 20" deep and 40" tall. Antique Chinese Slant Drop Front Writing Desk w/Chair, Carved, Beautiful
This is a beautiful Chinese carved wood slant front writing desk with matching chair. We do not know how old it is. Nor who made it; there is one very much like it-same size, shape, hardware, little more carving-listed on Ebay, but I don't believe this one was made in the 1800's. It is very solid and very, very heavy. The Chair has a cushion on it and is also very solid and very heavy. The carving is on the front and both sides of the desk, and on the chair, as seen in the photos. All the feet on both chair and desk are carved at the bottom. Below the writing area, there are two pullout drawers. The desk measures about 42 inches high, 38 inches wide, and 16 inches deep. As with the other writing desk we listed. This is a pick up item. VINTAGE WILLIAM & MARY STYLE DROP FRONT SPINET DESK MAHOGANY OR WALNUT BURL
SHIPPING IS NOT FREE FOR THIS ITEM. EMAIL FOR SHIPPING COSTS. This wonderful William and Mary style desk was purchased at an estate auction of an elderly couple. But its age is unknown. It is what is known as a spinet desk, which were first created in the 1600's and fell out of favor in the 1930's. Desk has decorative scroll ironworking on the top and bottom. And ornate bronze hardware pulls. Inside features 2 drawers and 1 center and 2 side cubbies. Bottom drawer extends almost the entire length of desk. Measures 45L X 19"D X 35"H. Looks to be mahogany burl veneer. But it could be walnut burl on desk front. Has some scratches and one small spot where the veneer is missing. But overall this desk is in very good condition considering it is an old piece. Finished in a rich brown polish.

Purchased at Files Auction House in Orange County about 15 years ago for $450. This antique drop front 4-drawer desk is for sale with a low starting price. Downsizing requires it to go. Beautiful notched carpentry joints(see picture) and birds eye maple lined drawers(see picture) The metal hinge on the drop front says'PAT'D APR 5. 87' Specific age unknown but late 1880s or early 1890s thus seems probable. Pull knob hardware on drawers does not appear original as there are plugged holes on each drawer. Claw and ball feet. No key for locks.though antique locks are present on all four drawers and on drop front. One of the pull out rests for the drop front top has a non-original wood end cap that has faded over the years and should be restained- but I will leave that to the buyer as I am not experienced in these matters.
