We were shown it over 20 years ago and thought it was beautiful- we purchased it then from my friend. There is a letter available for viewing upon request that tells this story. While we are not antiquities specialists. The letter was accepted as proof of provenance(copy provided upon request within the eBay message system) No promises are being made as to its exact age. There is one broken leg which was repaired. It is carefully shown in the attached photos. I also provided photos of other legs to show the construction. There is glue in addition to screws that secure the pieces. The alignment between the top and bottom is not exact. This is to be expected due to its age as an antique that has traveled from China to California. Great care has been taken to exhibit very detailed photos. This low chest from the Ch'ing Dynasty is made from elm wood, is from Shan Shi, China, and measures 46 1/2" wide x 19" deep x 29 1/2" tall. In 1999 it was certified to be over 100 years old, by Ning Po Art& Craft Association of China. Certificate will come with the chest. There is separation on the chest's top panel.
