International buyers welcome! This auction is for a nice antique marbletop pier console table with brass gallery and one drawer. This is a pretty unusual piece. I do not see very many of these. I checked over this nice table for a maker's mark and could not find a signature or label. The piece has two legs that screw into the front and it has a plate in the back where you can screw this table into the wall. The top has a very nice marble top and a great brass gallery. The top to this piece is surprisingly heavy. When I purchased this one of the dowels on the legs was really bad so I did purchase a new one and fix it myself. The only other detraction with this table is that the left side panel for the drawer is missing, someone replaced it with a heavy stock cardboard type material, but new owner will likely want to have a new side panel put in, although you would never notice it if the drawer was closed. The top of the table measures 26 inches wide and the table stands 32 inches tall. A Sharp looking console table! Do not miss your rare opportunity to add them to your home or collection today! Rather than calling it a chair I will instead call it a gothic throne- With the beautiful stamped leather seats. take a look at the pictures and you will clearly see why. The carving and the craftsmanship of this throne is nothing short of stunning. The detail is so intricate and incredibly ornate.I believe that it is stained white oak. I've searched the throne over extensively and cannot find a maker's mark or name. I imported them myself from France/Belgium. Some of the back seats needs a little work as you can see in the 5th and 6th picture. Price is for one chair. The bed was converted to a queen before my parents bought it in the 90's. It has been well cared for ever since that time. One hinge on the armoire broke so we opted to keep the door off instead of fixing it ourselves as we did not want to damage the furniture(the hinges did not all match when it was originally purchased by my family) The armoire has shelves on the right hand side and bars for hanging clothes in the middle and on the left. Another one of my estate sale Relics. The legs are black walnut that has been painted numerous times.And the final color is yellow cream with gold radiator paint in places. The legs would make great shelf brackets with a little bit of work,and some woodworking knowledge. its difficult to measur a piece like this but i will do my best. The one leg has a large chip out of the top carving. The legs measure approx 10 in tall if they where standing like table legs should be. They are approx 1 3/4in wide at the top and bottoms with a narrowing portion in the center. There are two dowl holes in the back of the curved portion where it would have sat against the column. I think these would safely hold a 9in shelf with a little modification. They are nicely carved,and the carvings are actual carvings,and NOT plaster applied. France during the 1920s and converted into a bookcase. The front doors have glass on top with geometric designs in oak on the lower half of them. The cornice is beautifully carved. When opened the piece reveals six shelves that are held in place by a bracket system which makes the shelves easily removable/ adjustable. ... moreThere is a latch on the left hand side of the interior that holds the left door closed. This piece was well cared for over the last 80 years and shows little sign of wear and tear. It would certainly compliment any home or office. The large cornice has a beautifully carved face. The fluted columns look great! All of the shelves are fully adjustable. Note the four pegs that hold the center piece to the side. This is how most of the armoire is held together. This latch secures the left door. The geometric designs on the lower portion of the doors is a traditional feature of pieces made in Brittany. These turned feet are solid oak and very sturdy. Each piece measures 21 cm( 8.25 inches) long and 4 cm( 1.25 inches) wide. There are two holes to affix the pieces onto the wood. I have not polished the pieces but have left it as I bought it. The shelves are 12.55 inches tall, have a depth of 7.45 inches& one side is 8 inches long. The shelves are completely hand-carved& silver leaf gilded. It is typical that all of the parts that were not visible to the eye were not covered in silver leaf as the process and the material was very expensive at the time. Hence, the back is painted and the shelf cover might have been covered with a remnant of fine cloth or silk. ANTIQUE 1880 FRENCH WOODEN HANGING 2 shelves TURNED FINIALS VICTORIAN FURNITURE
Elegant dark wood early French petite furniture. With 2 nicely shaped/scalloped shelves, hand-turned balusters and soo pretty top finials and feet. It measures 17"1/2 H at the back. 12"3/4 H in front. It is 19"1/2 wide x 6" deep in the center. The pelmet is beautifully cut out with beveled edges. It is in very good condition with two early repairs at the base of the back pelmet and to one lower corner. See pictures. Very minor woodworm that has been treated and shouldn't spread anymore. Can stand"as is" on a counter or be hanging to the wall. Great to hold a collection of figurines. Miniatures or French touch in the kitchen with enamelware canisters, small plants.etc
