Up for sale is a nice ANTIQUE VINTAGE PHILIPPINES WOODEN SANTOS. SAN ROQUE, SAINT ROCH. It stands almost 15& a half inches tall from the foot of the base to the tip of the hat. Antique Santo Wood San Roque Probably Mexican 19th C
May be Philippine. But carving style appears to be Mexican. Very nicely done figure of San Roque(pointing to his wound) Smaller size(just under 9 1/2" means it most likely was part of a home devotional. I will be parting with about 30 figures from my personal collection. Please check back often.

Very well-crafted especially with the execution of the exposed knee which was supposedly wounded by a dog. The right arm is depicted in the usual style clutching a staff but this was lost over time as evidenced by a small hole on the base which supports it. A relatively fresh coat of blue. Red and white paint were applied to the clothing and base but the antiquity of the piece is revealed in the exposed skin. Believed to be about fifty to sixty years old.
