I have never seen an antique chaise lounge/ fainting ... morecouch quite like this before. Featuring beautiful& solid Tiger Stripe Oak construction. It opens up to become a bed! Have a look at the gorgeous Tiger Stripe grain figure throughout; with beautiful Incised& Leaf carvings& ribbed apron base. A couple small bits of carving on the corners missing, touched up to blend. The upholstery is not original, re-done at some point in time but it is cheerful& perfectly servicable with no holes, tears or odors. The upholstery could be easily recovered in you choose. Although there is no mattress.I guess there must have been some padding at one time. Im sure you creative types out there can figure out exactly how this originally functioned. When open, the front section is webbed& has inner springs, perhaps the back section also did at one time. There is a heavy iron center latch& thick iron fold-down corner supports. On the one side you can see 2 folding iron frames that come to rest at an angle, presumably as headrests. The sofa measures 72.5 inches long, 21.5 inches deep& 33 inches high with a 23 inch high pillow end& 16 inch high seat. It opens to 40 inches by 67 inches(plus the"pillow" frames) Rest on very finely turned, solid Oak legs. Overall Beautiful shape& design and is perfectly proportioned. So this solid quartersawn oak sideboard has the best of both worlds. The base has two drawers and two doors with lots of storage space inside. The doors are paneled and have very cool shell and foliage carvings. The hardware on the drawers and doors is original and there are two different keys which will lock and unlock each door. Besides the carved paneled doors. The other interesting carving on this piece is kind of a feathered or herringbone type carving. The top of the base is clean and in very good antique used condition.no major issues. The top has a shaped original beveled mirror and panels on each side and carving above those. The support columns are really nice turned columns with lots of detail and turnings. The very top is an Art Nouveau style crest. This sideboard will break down into five pieces.the base. The top, the crest, and the two turned columns so easy for transport. Height to top of crest = 81 1/4" Height to top of base = 37 3/4" Length at longest = 48" Width at deepest = 21" Mirror is approx 23 1/2" by 25 1/2" This antique solid oak sideboard would make a statement in a dining area or great room type of kitchen. Beautiful Antique Craftsman Settle with quarter sawn oak Mission Arts and Crafts style couch. The seat has dark been upholstery in good condition. The wood is all in great condition and very pretty. There is one corner of the couch that is loose and needs to be repaired. If it sits in the same place. It is not a problem- just need to be careful when moving it. We have enjoyed the settle for 15 years, purchased it for $2000. We never repaired the corner and it wasn't a problem. It looks like it needs some updated glue or a person interested in woodworking. This is an older sofa in very good condition. When I had it recovered I was told that it looked to be from before 1900. I however have no way to track its history. It is very unique. The frame is completely separable from the cushions making it easy to recover. Its proportions give the sofa a tailored back about as high above the seat as the seat is deep. With arms much lower than the back. The pitch of the sofa’s back allows your back to rest at a comfortable angle, not too upright. It has 3 matching footstools that were certainly carved with it. It has 3 seat cushions, 3 backrest cushions, 2 round pillows for the ends, and the cushion that sets into the frame. The dimensions are 73” long, 32” high, 33” deep.
