ANTIQUE PASTEL COLORED SALT & PEPPER SHAKERS WITH GOLD S & P
You are bidding on an antique set of salt and pepper shakers. This set is from my Grandmother's estate. They belonged to her parents. The salt shaker is approx. 4" tall and is a delicate pink with a cork stopper on the bottom where you would fill the shaker, the top of the shaker has a gold S with an elegant wreath creating arms to hold the S. The pepper shaker is a soft mint green with a cork stopper on the bottom just like the pink shaker. The pepper shaker is also approx. 4" tall and has the gold"P" that is surrounded by the wreath arms. There is a bit of wear on the bottom of the shakers, you can see this in the pictures. There is also a bit of discoloration on the mint green pepper shaker, I think it may come off with a washing but I am not certain.

Then have a light background at the top with pink roses and greenery draping down. The gold on the top is heavy and in good condition. Them measure approximately 1-3/4" tall. There are no stoppers, but it shouldn't be hard to get some if you wanted to. I just displayed them, so I didn't need them. The mark on the bottom has Nippon in blue and something written above it also in blue. It may say handpainted or Noritake, or it may be a spray of flowers. It was stamped over the hole, plus it's faded, so I just cannot make it out. Whatever it is, it's ... morealso in blue. There are no chips, cracks, hairlines, etc. on these little cuties. The shakers are approximately 3 1/2 inches high and 2 1/4 inches in diameter at the widest point. There is wear to the gold bands around the tops of the shakers. This is a very pretty small salt and pepper set decorated with violets and features gold painted feet. No markings as to maker. The one on the left has a manufacturing flaw where the glaze appears to have clumped a bit. And I detected a flea bite on that one as well, along with a stray brush stroke of purple in one place. But if you love violets, and don't really care about perfection, these are just pretty and would look lovely on a shelf or in a cabinet. They stand 3" tall and 2" wide at the widest part. The porcelain is very delicate and light weight. The designs are similar to that of Pickard or Stouffer's decorating companies or Japan porcelain starting at the turn of the century. The round shakers with button tops measure 2 1/8" high and 1" in diameter at the base. The square pillar shakers measure 2" high and 1" square at the base. This listing is for a Vintage. Salt and Pepper Shaker Set. The shakers are tall pedestal footed with gold painted pedestals and tops. The center is a beautiful pink background with a daisy, rose and leaves floral paint in gold. The shakers are unmarked with a cream colored porcelain. The design is very similar to that of Stouffer's or Pickard decorated pieces from the 1930's and 40's. The shakers measure 5 1/2" high. 2 1/8" in diameter at the base and weigh 7.3 oz as a set. Both shakers are free of chips. Cracks and fleabites. The gold paint on onne of the set shows significant wear with several bald spots, the other is in good condition with small spots of wear around the top. There are no stoppers.
