Rare RCA Victor Dog 3” Tall S&P Vintage Antique Collectible Salt& Pepper Shakers Nipper His Master’s Voice with Corks. The unusual and quizzical pose of the little dog. Nipper, listening to the gramophone has fascinated young& old since the turn of the Century. The trademark image comes from a painting by English artist Francis Barraud. A.R.A. and titled His Master's Voice. It was acquired from the artist in 1899 by the newly-formed Gramophone Company. According to contemporary Gramophone Company publicity material, the dog, a fox terrier called Nipper, had originally belonged to Barraud's brother Mark. When Mark Barraud died, Francis inherited Nipper, along with a cylinder phonograph and a number of recordings of Mark's voice. RARE 1899 TWISTED SCROLL SALT& PEPPER SHAKERS EAGLE GLASS OPAQUE ROSES 3 5/8" For sale is a pair of RARE Salt& Pepper shakers. The pattern is Twisted Scroll. Made by Eagle Glass& Manufacturing Co, 1899-1904. They are opaque white glass, did have some hand painting which is now worn off. The pattern consists of three large scrolls each scroll is separated by a series of individual roses that diminish in size. Pattern was named by Millard. The caps appear to be original to the shakers, one is good used condition, the other has a small piece missing around the bottom rim, but still screws off and on easily. No chips, cracks or repairs. As is always found on antique shakers the top rims, under the caps are rough and not polished. A great hard to find pair of antique shakers. Features a white in color Roman/Greek type design seen on each side of shakers. Outer material appears to be similar to Wedgwood Blue- however. These are marked/etched with what looks like to be Milmar Industries, Inc. unsure) and carry the number 22 on undersides which look to be of glass(see pics) Tops are plastic type in material and have some slight staining on insides when removed- they fit very snug. Outer area of tops are clean and without an appearance of stain. Vintage Gold Salt And Pepper Shakers Rare And Beautiful
I don't know much about these and I am not an expert on condition. These appear to be in excellent shape with no chips or cracks in the porcelain. I have heard the pattern described as Pickard but I really don't know if it is or not. There is a beautiful floral pattern around the body of the shakers. There are no obvious makers marks on the bottom. The salt shaker has a cork stuck inside with what appears to be a glob of vintage salt. The pepper shaker is missing the cork. I have not done anything to the shakers as far as cleaning. Please ask if you have any questions! Shipping will include insurance.

Salt and Pepper Shakers Porcelain Lancaster Ltd. Hanley Rare
This rare. Collectible Lancaster Ltd. Hanley salt and pepper shaker set features a charming olde English countryside scenery pattern transferred onto porcelain and EPNS(Electro-Plate Nickel Silver) tops. The tops show an extremely slight tarnish on the lower edges that surround the porcelain that is hardly noticeable and yet, validates their approximate age. If I were to try to place the date of the scenery. I would guess the artist was portraying the 18th century- maybe 1757. 200 years, give or take a few decades, before you and I were born. It's not as difficult to guess the location of the scenery. Because Lancaster& Sons(Ltd. was a manufacturer of earthenware at the Dresden works in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent in England. They created their porcelain and pottery pieces from 1899- 1944. My grandmother acquired these in the late 1920's ... morefrom her mother. I know they meant something to her because I found them in her down-sized senior citizen kitchen while sorting her worldly goods after her passing in August of 2000. They carry the green underglaze mark of Lancaster Ltd. Hanley and the number 439 is inscribed into the porcelain of each shaker. International Buyers– Please Note: Import duties.
