Priest-owned Vintage 2nd class relic St. Padre Pio
This is a priest-owned 2nd class relic of St. Padre Pio from one of Padre Pio's actual gloves he wore over his Stigmata. The words"Dal guanto di" are Italian for"From the glove of. And"Patris Pio" is Latin for"Father Pio. This relic of his glove was one of several given to my uncle by a Capuchin monk at Padre Pio's monastery. My uncle was a priest in the Vatican curia for over 20 years. His assignments included the Congregation for the Causes of Saints and the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. Priests and other religious often give each other relics and make their own home-made reliquaries. My uncle made this one and sealed it with red thread.
