There are stickers on the back of the backing cardboard Made in convent 1875 by Grandma Stejspal St Mary and St Anne. It measures 8 by 10 with some missing pieces out of the edges and a few beads are missing from the seated Saints Halo. The colors are nice and bright and the embroidery is lovely. But I can't really say it's exact age The colors have held up very well and the stitching was well done As you can see the right side does have some staining. The frame is old. And peeling a bit along the right, but it is held together well Glass is intact without any cracks I'd say originally this piece was not made to fit a frame this size It would probably look better in a frame not as wide so the roses are actually in the corners. Antique Embroidery Sacred Heart of Jesus Christian Needlepoint Catholic Church
Hi. I found this really. Really old piece of needlepoint embroidery. It is the Sacrad Heart of Jesus design with the thorns piercing the heart. This is old. It looks super old. So the material has some browning and staining. I think it was originally in an oval frame and you kind of see that. the size is about eleven by fourteen inches. It was loosely sewn to a backing. The embroidery itself is in good condition. I think it is beautiful and the right person is going to love it. A lot of work went into it. Thank you.

ca 1900 German Woolwork Needlework/Embroidery OrigEmbossed Frame AMAZING
Expertly done German needlework/embroidery picture ca. 1900 in wool. With some scattered flowers at the bottom which appear to be done in silk. The subject matter may well be the"Resting Pilgrim, after an oil painting by Guillaume Jacques Herreyns, ca. 1800. Pictured is a man seated in the garden of a churchyard next to a monument of Christ hanging on the cross. There are many different types of stitches which have been really excellently done to create this picture in a beautiful array of colors. The face. Hands and feet of the"pilgrim" and also Christ hanging on the cross are actually early German die cuts which have been expertly incorporated into the needlework. The embroidery is done on a piece of silk( or other VERY THIN material. It is really an amazing piece of handiwork. It is framed in its original frame with embossed ... moregold decoration. The needlework itself is behind glass and in excellent condition. The frame has some damage on three corners, but is otherwise in very good condition. The back has a small hole in the paper backing. Antique Tiger Frame Jesus Sacred Heart Folk Art Embroidery Vtg Catholic Church
Up for auction are two very old Sacred Heart Handmade Folk Art Embroidered Pictures. They are the same size measuring 17 1/2" X 21 1/2" These feature a celluloid Virgin Mary and Jesus Sacred Heart Images.mounted on embroidery type of fabric. The words are embroidered.with dried flowers underneath the holy images. The celluloid virgin head is cracked as pictured.but does not take away from the picture.The picture of the Virgin looks to have stains.this is not a stain.it is uneven and shadowed.These are nice and have a great Victorian look to them.the tiger frames are sound and not loose.they have some minor chips that would be expected with their age.These stood out in the auction hall.even from a distance.they need a good home.Please inspect the pictures.they are not perfect.but display very well as antique early Sacred Heart pictures. ... morePlease also email me any questions or concerns prior to bidding.Thank you for looking!
