Antique Jesus Virgin Mary Angels Wood Frame Silver Foil Curved 5-9/16" x 4-1/8"
Listed is a vintage/antique framed picture of Jesus. Virgin Mary and 2 angels looking thoughtful at the bottom of the picture. It measures 5-9/16" x 4-1/8" x 3/8" It has a ring attached to the back to hang it on a wall. The metal tab the ring is attached to says Pat. No. 191495(I think. It's hard to read the last 2 digits due to a little corrosion of the metal) I do not know the date of this piece. has it dated as: 1877: 185.813-198,732 It's a little hard for me to explain because I don't know much about it. The'silver foil' appears to be glued to the wood'frame' The silver is 3-dimensional/raised. I have no idea if it's sterling or aluminum or something else. The black looks marbled. However. I'm not entirely sure if it was made that way, or if the color has rubbed off a little giving it ... morea marbled effect. The picture itself is curved. What I don't know is if it's covered with something(doesn't feel like glass to me but I could be wrong) Or if the image is ON whatever the material is made out of(in other words, it might not be a photo covered with glass or plastic, but some material with the picture printed on it somehow) If you turn it to the side(so the light hits it just so) you can see tiny dots/splotches on the surface. You don't see them straight on. Honestly. I don't think any of this distracts from the coolness of this item. I tend to over-report issues since I try to be your eyes. I've had several buyers say the items they bought were much better than described. I just like to err on the side of caution in case a buyer is really picky about condition. There is some sticker residue on the upper right hand corner on the back. I really apologize for not being able to explain any of this better. Found at an antique store. miniature picture of our lady- she is above is city- not sure which one and there are two angels at her feet. She's also holding baby jesus. Says: Sv. Marija na Smarni Gori. Tried to translate- came out to Sv. Mary on Mount Šmarno. So. Not sure what language this is is first said Roman, then Bosnian, then slovanian. Frame is very old- 2 1/2 inches by 2 inches. Someone glued the back pieces on to make it more stable or they fell off at one time. It's on there pretty good now. Frame is silver tone metal but has spotty wear to it
