This is a genuine vintage 1960's large sized signed Heywood Wakefield surfboard coffee table with sculpted legs and doeskin finish. It measures 62" long. 20" wide and 14.75" tall. It is in good condition with mild wear and marks on the top and moderate wear to the edges especially on the ends and leg ends and has a 10" stable crack along a joint on one end. MID-CENTURY MARBLE OVAL (SURFBOARD STYLE) COFFEE TABLE
Excellent condition marble and wood oval. Or surfboard, style mid-century coffee table. The marble is beige and sits upon a dark wood base. The base is in very nice condition with considerably less scrapes and scuff marks than you would expect in a mid-century piece. The legs are tapered with brass decorative bands at the top. The total size is 66" long by 25" wide by 14" high by 1" thick. As you can see the tag indicates 1960 although it could be a distributors label. Due to the size and weight the buyer will have to arrange his/her own shipping or pick it up locally. Listed as a local pick-up but I can assist delivery to the southern California area. I.e. Vintage 1950’s(1958) Drexel Surfboard Coffee Table Made In Denmark Rare natural wood version no laminate. True surfboard table marked on bottom. Measurements: 14 1/2” Height 71" Length 19 3/4” Width. Material: Walnut Wood Condition thereare water stains on the top and it probably needs to be refinished. There is a long scratch along the width of the table in the middle, and some black hardened surface goo near it. This is all original and has not been refinished. There are also a few superficial scratches on the legs& some wear to the edge of the natural stain on one side. Average wear for age I think. This rare mid century modern find has the clean looks of the 50's 60's with it's 6 point solid wood table base and center planter that also doubles as a magazine rack. On each side stanced. Are large v-shaped arches that reach up to support the glass with a hidden planter magazine rack design. A long upward swooping arm stretches out to create the two far end points as it holds up the face of this beautiful piece of art. Rounded corners on the 1/4" thick glass continue to evoke that modern feel with clean lines and a large oval surfboard like shape make up the top.
