Antique Style Mahogany Writing Desk Made by Sligh USA
This is a very nice pretty clean writing desk. I would say the top is solid mahogany the rest is a veneer. The brass handles are all original and solid brass. The drawers all run fine. You do have either side a file drawer. The top drawer has the makers label( Sligh Holland Michigan) not really sure if they are still in business. L would guess the desk is around 30 years old, but would be a better quality desk than some they make today. The gold on the top is a little worn at the front as you will see in the picture but the leather is in pretty good condition. Measurements are 56 wide.26 deep,30 high, and the knee hole is 24 wide,24 1/2 high.

VINTAGE CARLTON HOUSE STYLE MAHOGANY WRITING DESK c. Mid 20th Century Item# 409UST06A This is a very attractive reproduction after the original Carlton House desk form. Probably executed during the middle of the 20th Century. The craftsmanship is quite fine, the drawers being solid oak with hand dovetailed framing and a chamfered bottom. The legs are solid mahogany with a thick reeded carving around the upper one-third, each terminating in fine brass castors.
