Ohio Fulton 2166" and the other is labeled"Grand Canyon Arizona" The Grand Canyon tray has a glass dome insert in it's base covering a scene that depicts a person standing and viewing the Grand Canyon. The third item is an outstanding copper plaque of a rendering of St. Anthony& Jesus. They are all structurally sound and intact. The Peerless tray is 5 3/8 inches wide. BEAUTIFULLY DETAILED SMALL 4.5" x 8" WOOD PLAQUE WITH STATIONS OF THE CROSS GRAPHICS AND SMALL WOOD CRUCIFIX AFFIXED Back is plain wood with small ring for hanging. Originally from Shrine of St Jude Thaddeus. Chicago(Judging by the wall Illinois is abbreviated in the old way"Ill. and with no zip code. I'd say this predates the early 1960's) The Stations graphics appear to be printed on paper which has been affixed to the wood plaque and sealed over. Then the small wood Cross has been glued on top. May have originally been meant for a shut-in who could not go to the church to make the Stations. There's a lot of detail in the small pictures. And each station is named as well as numbered. It is written that as the musicians played at her wedding she"sang in her heart to the Lord" Her feast day is celebrated in theRoman catholic. Anglican, Eastern Orthodox, and Eastern Catholic Churches on November 22. She is one of seven women, excluding the Blessed Virgin, commemorated by name in the Canon oft he mass. Cecilia is one of the most famous of the Roman martyrs, even if the familiar stories about her are apparently not founded on authentic material. According to Kirsch, while it is a pious romance, like so many others compiled ... morein the fifth and sixth century, the existence of the martyrs, however, is a historical fact. The relation between St. Cecilia and Valerianus, Tiburtius, and Maximus, mentioned in the Acts, has perhaps some historical foundation. Her feast has been celebrated since about the fourth century. This is a vintage collectible church plate depicting the Nelson Presbyterian Church on 6500 Natural Bridge. St. Louis County, Missouri. Plate has a gold rim or edging. Most of which is still intact. It also has a raised pattern around the border of grapes and grape leaves. Tendrils, etc. The church itself is in a burgundy red as are the clouds and the printing. It might have been made mid century. Plate is 9 ¼” in diameter and in excellent shape; I found no damage to it. On the back. It has in green“Theme Homer Laughlin USA and“J56N5” also in green. Also back there is the WORLD WIDE Art Studios name and logo. A Division of Atlas Crystal Works, Inc. Covington, Tennessee. The history of the church is back there as well: Nelson Presby. Church was organized by sixty charter members on Nov. 5. 1909. A Sunday School had been started during ... moreJan. 1907. It later became known as Kenwood Springs Sunday School. The first church bldg. was of concrete block construction. And the first service was held on Nov. 1, 1910. The newer rock church at 6500 Natural Bridge was named in honor of Lewis Cass Nelson. Who donated the ground. It was dedicated on Oct. 30. 1932. First service in the present new sanctuary was held on March 3, 1957, with dedication week, April 30 to May 5, 1957. Rev. W. Plate has no nicks or cracks; it does have crazing which may or may not have been the original design; some of the gold is missing, worn away by time which makes me think this plate is quite old. Ludger accompanied him to be ordained into the diaconate(as he duly was, by Ethelbert of York) and to study under Alcuin, but after a year he returned to Utrecht. Sometime later he was granted an opportunity to continue his studies in the same school, when he developed a friendship with Alcuin which lasted throughout life. In 772 frictions arose between the Anglo-Saxons and the Frisians, and Ludger, for the sake his personal safety, left for home, taking with him a number of valuable books. He remained in the Martinsstift until the death of Gregory in 775. In honour of whose memory he wrote the biography Vita Gregorii. He was then sent to Deventer to restore the chapel destroyed by the pagan Saxons and to find the relics of Saint Lebuinus. Who had worked there as missionary, built the chapel, and died there in c. 775. Ludger succeeded, and returned to teach in the Martinsstift. Their commemoration was omitted from the Catholic calendar of saints for liturgical celebration when it was revised in 1969, but they have been kept in the Roman Martyrology.
