The only history I have on this little 3 1/2" tall pitcher is that it was in my Grandma's china cabinet and then in my Mom's and then it got packed away for the last 15 years. It has no markings that I can find. It is handpainted fruit design. With 24Kt. gold handle and accents around the rim. There is a pear, a plume, and an apple. Very nice Antique Ceramic Porcelain Pitcher or Large Creamer Transferware Floral design(apple blossoms? that has also be handpainted to color the flowers Gold paint trim around the neck. On the handle, and also around the top rim. Some of the gold paint has worn off on the top rim and also the top of the handle. There is a rough area on the top rim where the gold paint is worn but I do not think it is a chip but rather where the paint has gathered. There are 4 tiny black dots that are in the china from the original firing. Two on the outside and two on the inside. I would date this about 1880-1910? but that is just a guess It is marked with a red"S" in a red diamond shape and the numbers"1446 and 54" in red on the bottom. I could not identify the maker. A Rare Large Antique Coalport Porcelain Pitcher Handpainted Regency Style 19c
A rare and spectacular large Coalport porcelain pitcher. Hand painted with floral bouquets throughout and with ornately modeled and gilt handle and spout. The pitcher was done in the late Regency style of earlier Coalport porcelains, this example having been made in the 1890's, probably a commission to match an existing set. The size of the pitcher indicates it may be a wash pitcher. It is in good condition with some minor issues commensurate with age. There is fine glaze crazing throughout, which has browned a bit along the foot rim and on the interior. This is not severe. There are a few very fine and short glaze spider lines, visible on the interior only. The underside has a similar, slightly larger glaze line, but this does not go through the porcelain body either. There is one very fine and short hairline on the spout, which does ... morego though, but is stable and non-obtrusive. A few minor areas of enamel flaking, the largest on the leaf above the tulip on one side of the pitcher. Minor scuff mark inside the pitcher directly under the handle- this is not a crack. Antique Art Nouveau German Porcelain handpainted Pitcher
Beautiful handpainted Art Nouveau made in Germany signed Depon and hallmarked ES in script. This lovely translucent porcelain pitcher is pure white inside( sorry my inside photo is showing blue. This is not the case) The outside background is a light yellow chartreuse with these beautifully drawn brown branches with tiny leaves in light green scattered all over. Then there are these beautiful feathery leaves in shades of brown and French blue with brown accents. There is a little black swallow flying by. The handle is art nouveau styled in the porcelain and the pitcher is a 4 sided bulbous shape. The top of the pitcher is fluted on 4 sides for easy pouring from any corner. The matching pitcher measures just over 11 inches tall and from handle to spout measures 9 inches across. The condition is absolutely amazing for its age. I did not detect any chips, just some minor scratches and minor crazing. The bottom of the pitcher is numbered but nothing on the bottom of the bowl.
