Elegant Antique White Pitcher~Royal Ironstone~Johnson Bros England
Tall water pitcher standing 12.5" from base to the flower on the handle tip. No major flaws of cracks or chips evident. There's a very small manufacturing flaw under the glaze near the base and one fleck of wood ash on the side. Yes, these beautiful antique pieces were produced with heat from an open wood fire. When held to a strong light, there's evidence of very light minor scratching. Johnson Brothers began manufacturing in 1883 in the Staffordshire district in the Hanley settlement and this would have been one of their earliest patterns as this tall, slim with rounded base style was produced in the 1880s and 1890s. My research shows this water pitcher to have been made by William& Thomas Adams(My Granny's Attic Antiques: UK Porcelain and Pottery Marks) They were in business from 1866-1900. Which put them during the"Aesthetic Movement" of 1860-1900. The pitcher measures 12 1/2" tall to the spout. Pattern is brown transfer. Marked on the bottom"W& T Adams England" with"Adelaide" stamped in a ribbon Handle is firm. But I would only recommend it to be used for display Sent via UPS to include insurance.

White Ironstone Pitcher Alcock England Barnum and Bailey Elephant, Dumbo Jumbo
A very rare Victorian period ironstone pitcher with elephant decoration on handle. Elephant pitcher was made to acknowledge the Barnum and Bailey elephant. Jumbo. Pitcher also has a chrysanthemum decoration on each side at the top. Near the handle and at the base of the handle. This piece measures about 8 inches high with a 4 3/4 base. 6 inches from handle to end of spout, 4 1/2 inches by 4 inches at base. Piece has crazing but no chips. Has a surface crack on base that does not go through to the inside of the pitcher. It's not a perfect piece but it is very rare. Especially in this size. Made by H. Alcock and Co. England. From Barnum and Bailey's timeline: 1882- Barnum brings Jumbo. A massive 12-foot African elephant, to America. The word"jumbo" becomes part of the English language.

I don't know how old this is. But other listings on here for it had it under antiques so I went ahead and put it in the same category. No cracks or chips, but it does have a few scuff marks, example shown in the last picture. Those really are not that visible unless you twist it around in the light looking for them. There are a few dark spots, small ones, that I think are mostly just natural or age-related. 6 1/2" tall. The inside has some discoloration as well, shown in the third-to-last picture.

Johnson Bros. England made this beautiful white and black pitcher. It is stamped with an uncommon black Johnson Bros. mark. I believe this pitcher dates to sometime around the late 1800's or early 1900's. The pattern is Flora and it exhibits an unusual style and shape. It has a beautiful transfer of gorgeous lily type flowers. The pitcher is approximately 7" tall and 3" diameter at the top opening. The base is approximately 3" diameter. It is in wonderful condition. With no chips, cracks or crazing. There is some slight staining as a normal sign of it's age. This is a lovely and unique early piece by Johnson Brothers England.

It is about 9" tall, salt glazed outside with shiny white glaze inside; and the ornamental grapevine design is an applied lattice of grapes and leaves, with a gorgeous floral and vine handle which divides and twines under the rim on each side. It is in good antique condition. Commensurate with its age, with one chip on the underside of the top rim along with some wear discoloration. This pitcher is a lovely shape with a gorgeous design.

I have saved the best for last. Beautiful Matching Vintage White Ironstone China Bowl and Pitcher. It is probably 100 years old and is in wonderful shape except for some very light crazing on the bowl-the pitcher has no crazing. The detail on the handle and all over the pitcher is wonderful. The floral portion of the pattern appears to be bleeding heart. This is a very large pitcher at almost 13 inches tall and about 7 x 8 inches on the bottom. The logo on the bottom says Warranted Stone China. Mellor, Taylor& Co. England. The matching bowl is 15 inches in diameter x 5 inches high and has the same logo as the pitcher. The bowl has the same pattern on the inside and is smooth on the outside.
