This is for a 7 1/2" tall cream. Yellow ware, pitcher made by Roseville Pottery. This has the blue Ink Stamp with the Rv on the bottom. This is an old pitcher and the glaze is crazed alot on one side of the pitcher but not the other side. The inside is crazed also and a little discolored. There is a chip to the underside of the spout which seems to be polished and glazed over, maybe a repair. The handles are applied and I believe this pattern is Lily of the Valley. Small Antique Folk Art Pottery Creamer - Pitcher Earthenware Hand Painted Tulip
Hi. For sale a small antique redware pitcher or creamer. The pitcher is cream colored with hand painted brown slip glaze Pennsylvania Dutch Tulips. Leaves, dots and lines. There is a chip on the bottom rim painted band(see picture) There is some crazing and some paint is wearing off due to age. I took close up pictures to show the paint fading and crazing. Crazing is mostly on the top of the pitcher or creamer. You need to look close to see the crazing- there is also a few tiny pottery marks or holes from when it was made. This William Schiller and sons majolica/ art pottery wine ewer is a fabulous piece. It measures 10.5 inches tall and 7 inches diameter. It features a very lovely pale green background with creams. Browns and tan raised leaves scrolls and faces all around. A bronw tone base and handle set off the piece beautifully. There is a lion head under the spout, and 4 raised relief faces around the center of the jug. Marked on the underside as shown in photos. We find no damage and no repairs. Up for auction is a Marked and Signed"Roy" Weissman Company, Incorporated of East Palestine, Ohio and New York City, New York(Circa 1941 to Closed in 1957) Weisley China(WC) Brand, American Art Pottery, Hand Painted-Handcrafted, American Painted Porcelain" Small Porcelain Artware Ewer Pitcher which can best be Attributed as Being Manufactured and Decorated by the Dwight Morris China Company also of East Palestine, Ohio(1939 to 1982) in"Excellent Plus" Used Condition and Made Between Circa 1941 to 1957. This little ewer has no chips. Cracks, glaze crazing, scratches, scuffs or repairs of any kind. It's only post factory issue is that some gold trim has worn away and picture 12 is a close up of the most worn area. This isn't uncommon to see when gold trim is applied either. It can be fired on or underglaze and ... moreit ususally is when it's part of the main pattern, but many times it's a final production step and it's applied cold. It has real gold in it and ceramic decorators use 22, 23 or 24 karat gold. It's always been an acceptable practice of cold painting the gold so it's not usually applied as a standard for a pottery or decorators quality of work. Immerse washings and shelf cleanings or dustings with a heavy hand are two main ways wear happens. Most consumers aren't aware that the gold trim areas need some special care. This piece is about 6 1/4 inches tall and about 3 1/8 inches at the most bulbous point near the bottom. The next biggest measurement is the from the outward pour lip across to the handle at about 2 3/4 inches and the top opening is an oval of about 5/8 inches by 3/4 inches across. Being true porcelain means this piece will be strong, but light weighing about 5 ounces. There's a beautiful hand painted floral pattern which I'm fairly sure is representative of the pansy flower. This has a glaze that is shiny on the outside. While the inside and bottom is mat. The only condition problems I can spot are some crazing both inside and out and a white line on the inside about 3/4" of an inch down from the top that goes all around, probably from being used and filled with liguids. I spotted the crazing when I went outside in daylight, otherwise it is hard to see. Check out all photos for best look at the amazing variations and swirls in this pattern. From the square shape of the pitcher I am guessing that this is from the early 1920's-30's era of ART Deco influence. Founded in 1926. Daison Art Pottery was among many potteries that cropped up in Torquay during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Although best known for their bird and flower-adorned ceramics, Daison also dabbed in the stylings of the innovative and extremely influential 19th century designer, Dr. Christopher Dresser. In recent times. Dr. Dresser has been credited as both a founding father of the Aesthetic Movement and catalyst of the Anglo-Japanese design craze that captivated both Europe and North America in the late 1800's, though his influences spanned far beyond Asia. In his 1873 design manifesto, Principles of Victorian Design. Dresser dedicated most of his discussion of historic pottery to Egyptian and Greek designs, an influence evident in many of the pieces produced during Dresser's 3 year term as the Art Superintendent ... moreof Linthorpe Art Pottery(1879- 1882) and works by other potteries attempting to replicate Dresser's Linthorpe designs. The pitcher for sale here bears a striking resemblance to two of Dresser's Linthorpe Pottery pitchers, one in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art(Accession# 1988.423.3) and one at the Chicago Institute of Art(Accession# 1987.214) Both pieces were obviously inspired by the historic shapes of Cyclaid beak-spouted pitchers, a shape masterfully emulated by one of Daison's potters. Clearly well-versed in Dresser's Linthorpe designs, the Daison potter also incorporated an Early Minoan Vasiliki Ware-like mottled, glazed finish, also used by Linthorpe Pottery on several of Dresser's pieces. RARE ANTIQUE SIGNED D.HAMILTON POTTERY PITCHER ROOKWOOD 1939 ART NOUVEAU GIRL
Up for auction: A Signed Frederick Dallas Hamilton Road Pottery Pitcher. She has an Art Nouveau Face below her spout and a soft blue glaze. The glaze is almost a French Provencal Blue with darker blue speckles. She measures 9" tall x 8 1/2" wide. Her opening measures 4" wide x 5" long. She is signed/incised D. Hamilton 1939 on the bottom. This pottery factory. From what I learned doing research, had an early important rivalry with the founder of Rookwood Pottery, and many members of the Frederick Dallas Hamilton shop eventually went to work at Rookwood. From my research: In 1877 Storer figured out how to paint the porcelain under the glaze. And consequently became the first artist in the United States to implement the underglaze technique. Eventually other artists began utilizing this same technique. And in 1879 McLaughlin ... morefounded the Cincinnati Pottery Club. While it might seem logical that Storer would join the group. She declined an invitation to do so. This rivalry is likely what caused her to start Rookwood Pottery in the first place. Each member of the club had their pottery made at the Frederick Dallas Hamilton Road Pottery factory, and they would meet at the Women's Art Museum Association located on fourth street in downtown Cincinnati. Eventually the group moved their meeting to the Dallas shop when the association moved to Cincinnati Music Hall. When Rookwood Pottery was opened. Many of the workers from Frederick Dallas joined her team and effectively hindered some of the aspirations of McLaughlin and her group. In 1880 she published another work. This one titled Pottery Decoration under the Glaze. By this time the technique was already being implemented in other parts of the country. That following year Frederick Dallas died and his shop closed. Leaving McLaughlin and her club to rent a room at Rookwood Pottery. Really Beautiful Hand Painted Ceramic Wide Mouth 6" Pitcher and two(2) matching mugs/cups. These are a little different than most Beverage sets I have seen. The pitcher is more solid and heavy. And has a seam- as does one of the cups. The pitcher has a couple production flaws on the lip and some crazing. No cracks or chips. One of the mugs does have a chip on the bottom rim. I'm offering for sale a Marked and Signed"Roy" Weissman Company, Incorporated of East Palestine, Ohio and New York City, New York(Circa 1941 to Closed in 1957) Weisley China(WC) Brand, American Art Pottery, Hand Painted-Handcrafted, American Painted Porcelain" Small Porcelain Artware Ewer Pitcher which can best be Attributed as Being Manufactured and Decorated by the Dwight Morris China Company also of East Palestine, Ohio(1939 to 1982) in"Excellent Plus" Used Condition and Made Between Circa 1941 to 1957. This little ewer has no chips. Cracks, glaze crazing, scratches, scuffs or repairs of any kind. It's only post factory issue is that some gold trim has worn away and picture 12 is a close up of the most worn area. This isn't uncommon to see when gold trim is applied either. It can be fired on or underglaze ... moreand it ususally is when it's part of the main pattern, but many times it's a final production step and it's applied cold. It has real gold in it and ceramic decorators use 22, 23 or 24 karat gold. It's always been an acceptable practice of cold painting the gold trim as a last step so it shouldn't be considered poor quality work by potteries and decorating firms. Immersed washing and dusting with a heavy hand are two main ways wear happens and most consumers aren't aware that the gold trim areas need some special care. This piece is about 6 1/4 inches tall and about 3 1/8 inches at the most bulbous point near the bottom. The next biggest measurement is the from the outward pour lip across to the handle at about 2 3/4 inches and the top opening is an oval of about 5/8 inches by 3/4 inches across. Being true porcelain means this piece will be strong. But light weighing about 5 ounces. There's a beautiful hand painted floral pattern which I'm fairly sure is representative of the pansy flower. RED CLIFF AMERICAN IRONSTONE ART POTTERY WHITE 7.25" TALL OCTAGON PITCHER MINTY
Up for auction is a Marked. Red-Cliff Company of Chicago, Illinois(Ironstone Distributors and Decorators, 1950 to 1980) Exact Specification, Antique American or British Ironstone Reproduction, Octagon(8 Sided) Table Pitcher in"Near-Mint" Sparingly Used Condition which was Manufactured by the Hall China Company of East Liverpool, Ohio, U.S.A. 1901 to Present) sometime between 1950 and 1980. This superb replica/ reproduction ironstone pitcher has no chips. Cracks, glaze crazing, scratches, scuffs, major stains or repairs of any kind. I'm stating"Near-Mint" condition for one small post factory issue that's only on the bottom of this piece. There are three methods a pottery can choose for kiln firing the glaze and Red Cliff Pottery used an unglazed base ring as their method and you can see in picture 10 that the dry ... morering absorbed some dust or dirt and it discolored the ring a little bit. There is also a factory flaw with this piece and picture 12 is a close up view of the flaw. You can see that there's an in-mold band around the pitcher just a few inches below the top opening. The band creates two creases on either side of it and within the upper crease you can see a black dot. This tiny dot got into the white glaze some how and it's there to stay. Please keep in mind that the flaw has been their since the pitcher was removed from the Hall China Company's kiln. With the discoloring of the base ring being on the bottom and the black dot being so tiny there really isn't any compromising of this pitcher's aesthetic value. Without a doubt is displays nicely and if so desired it's a fully functional piece as well. The tallest point for this pitcher is the handle where it makes close to a 90 degree turn and as already stated it's about 7 1/4 inches tall. The top opening is somewhat rounded even though it becomes a hexagonal piece most of the way toward the bottom. Up for auction is a small art pottery pitcher in a chocolate brown glaze with a raised cavalier on either side. The pitcher stands about 5 inches high and 3.5 inches across the base. It is not marked. But I believe it was made by Peters and Reed in Zanesville, Ohio. Hi. For sale a small antique yellow clay pitcher or creamer. The pitcher is cream colored with hand painted brown slip glaze tulips. Leaves, dots and lines. There is a chip on the bottom rim painted band(see picture) There is some crazing and some paint is wearing off due to age. I took close up pictures to show the paint fading and crazing. Crazing is mostly on the top of the pitcher or creamer. You need to look close to see the crazing- there is also a few tiny pottery marks or holes from when it was made. Up for auction or"Buy It Now" is a Marked and Signed"Roy" Weissman Company, Incorporated of East Palestine, Ohio and New York City, New York(Circa 1941 to Closed in 1957) Weisley China(WC) Brand, American Art Pottery, Hand Painted-Handcrafted, American Painted Porcelain" Small Porcelain Artware Ewer Pitcher which can best be Attributed as Being Manufactured and Decorated by the Dwight Morris China Company also of East Palestine, Ohio(1939 to 1982) in"Excellent Plus" Used Condition and Made Between Circa 1941 to 1957. This little ewer has no chips. Cracks, glaze crazing, scratches, scuffs or repairs of any kind. It's only post factory issue is that some gold trim has worn away and picture 12 is a close up of the most worn area. This isn't uncommon to see when gold trim is applied either. It can be ... morefired on or underglaze and it ususally is when it's part of the main pattern, but many times it's a final production step and it's applied cold. It has real gold in it and ceramic decorators use 22, 23 or 24 karat gold. It's always been an acceptable practice of cold painting the gold trim as a last step so it shouldn't be considered poor quality work by potteries and decorating firms. Immersed washing and dusting with a heavy hand are two main ways wear happens and most consumers aren't aware that the gold trim areas need some special care. This piece is about 6 1/4 inches tall and about 3 1/8 inches at the most bulbous point near the bottom. The next biggest measurement is the from the outward pour lip across to the handle at about 2 3/4 inches and the top opening is an oval of about 5/8 inches by 3/4 inches across. Being true porcelain means this piece will be strong. But light weighing about 5 ounces. There's a beautiful hand painted floral pattern which I'm fairly sure is representative of the pansy flower. 1915 Antique Art Pottery Pitcher Made in HOllAND by H BOUMA HARLINGEN
This is a very old example of Art Pottery made in Holland by H BOUMA HARLINGEN. It looks to be dated 1915. The lady from which I purchased this said it was brought to American by one of her ancestors who came to work and eventually become an American citizen. It seems to be in great condition for it's age. There is internal crazing and some staining as is true of all very old pieces. It's about 3 1/2 inches tall.

For sale is a beautiful vintage RED CLIFF AMERICAN IRONSTONE ART POTTERY OCTAGON PITCHER. The pitcher is glossy white and measures 6-3/4 inches tall. The base measures nearly 4 inches across. Condition is excellent; no chips, cracks, breaks or repairs.

Here is a Beautiful Antique. Hand Made, Hand Painted Pitcher. The Flowing Blue lines are part of the original glaze. The glaze on this pitcher feels so soft it's like holding velvet. WOW! From 1900-1930? 9 1/2" long handle to spout x 7" wide x 7 1/2" tall to handle. The spout opening is so big that a soup can will fit inside. Holds 8 cups or 64 oz. that's a great size for a pitcher. This Antique Pitcher is in perfect condition. No chips or cracks. As you can see there is the normal air bubble pops. Glaze skips, and tool marks. That's okay, all old pottery have these identifying marks. The bottom has the numbers 106.09. The 106 is probably the pattern, and the 09 is probably the date? Collectors. This is the real deal. We know you want the best piece, in the best condition, and with the most unusual patterns and ... morecolors. Well this Pitcher is that and more.
