It is heavy ironstone. Both pieces marked"Ironstone China Warranted" in blue underneath. The blue maker's mark also features two standing lions. See the photos for a closeup look. The edges of the bowl are scalloped. The bowl measures a little over 10" diameter and 3 1/2" tall. The soap dish is 3 1/2" by 5 1/4" by 1" The glaze has crackled with age and the body is stained. As shown in the photos. It can be made white again, but I've left it alone and priced it low enough to allow for cleaning. There are no hairlines or chips in the bowl. This creamy white Ironstone cranberry jelly, pudding, and/or aspic mold is in great condition for its age and utilitarian usage. This is a rare pattern versus the common corn and sheaf of wheat motif. The mold is 8 1/8 inches long. 6 5/8 inches wide and 4 1/2 inches high. It has thick walled sides 1/2 to ¼ inches thick. There is a maker’s mark stamped into the base but is illegible. It weighs over 3 pounds. Ironstone was first made in 1813. It was more durable than porcelain and became popular during the mid-19th century. Both English and American potteries made ironstone. Much of the English ironstone was exported to the United States. There is one small chip on the lip of the rim. No cracks. Although. There is light brown discoloration(patina) on the inside and out from high baking temperatures from coal or wood burning ovens. The outside has light brown areas as well. It does have areas of crazing to the glaze. Though none of the above compromise the stability of the piece nor its value. I have other Victorian food molds(moulds) from my collection presently listed on eBay. This one I purchased in 1997 at Heeltappers Antiques in Marblehead. MA. This mold will be an asset to your country kitchen(I now have a mid century modern house) The images are to be view carefully and carry more weight than the verbal description and remembering that antique items have had a long. Historical, utilitarian life and show their age. Unless items are described as mint, please expect age appropriate wear. I've listed 5 other ironstone food molds on eBay. Here's another of the old or antique ironstone pieces we've been listing recently. This one is a relatively thick pitcher that probably is meant to hold about 1 pint. It has some slight signs of use and light shadowing and some spotty areas of the glaze as noted above and in the pictures. No cracks or breaks to note. It has marking"Cockson& Seddon" and"Ironstone China" It stands about 5.5 inches tall and is about 3.5 inches wide and about 5.5 inches from handle to spout. Not sure if there is a pattern name for this but we show a picture of the decorative flourish near the handle that could be helpful to identification. That's about it. Antique White Ironstone Pitcher & Bowl - Niagara Shape - Copper Lustre - c.1856
Offered is a gorgeous. Matching, White Ironstone Bowl& Pitcher in the Niagara Shape. This shape features wonderful embossing below the spout of the pitcher, and a series of fan shapes around the base of the pitcher and inner rim of the bowl. Both are beautifully outlined with copper lustre. They were produced by Edward Walley in Cobridge, England, and registered in November, 1856. Both pieces retain his impressed mark with the shape name. The bowl has a small chip on the underside rim and a tight hairline on the side of the bowl. The pitcher has spider lines on the bottom; one that goes a very short way up from the base. The pitcher also has a couple of pinpoint marks on the body from production. Elegant Antique White Pitcher~Royal Ironstone~Johnson Bros England
Tall water pitcher standing 12.5" from base to the flower on the handle tip. No major flaws of cracks or chips evident. There's a very small manufacturing flaw under the glaze near the base and one fleck of wood ash on the side. Yes, these beautiful antique pieces were produced with heat from an open wood fire. When held to a strong light, there's evidence of very light minor scratching. Johnson Brothers began manufacturing in 1883 in the Staffordshire district in the Hanley settlement and this would have been one of their earliest patterns as this tall, slim with rounded base style was produced in the 1880s and 1890s. Antique White Ironstone Wash Basin Chamber Pitcher Burgess& Campbell This is a wonderful. Rare all white toiletry or wash pitcher, manufactured during the 1903 to 1910 time frame, which stands 12 inches tall and is 8 inches in diameter at its widest part. The pitcher carries the back stamp of the Burgess& Campbell Company, which is a crown in a circular ring with the words, Royal China above the crown. Noted by both Edwin Barber's book, U.S. Marks on Pottery and Lois Lehner's volume, U.S. Marks on Pottery, Porcelain, And Clay, the Burgess and Cambell name, under the crown trademark, was replaced by the name, International when the company formed new business partnerships in 1903. The International Pottery Company was one of a large number of potteries formed in the Trenton area during the late 1800's that became known ... moreas the Staffordshire of America. In over-all marvelous condition for its 100+ years of age. There are no cracks, chips, or nicks. We do note that there is crazing to some areas and a yellowing/staining of the white porcelain, where over the years, minerals from the water have seeped through the porcelain. This staining on the pitcher is by the handle, at the top of the pour spout, and a small area below the pour spout. If you have been looking for a seldom found pitcher from a well-respected and old pottery. This piece will do marvelously well as a focal point for an Early Americana display with its classic Victorian style and embossed shell and scroll treatment. Antique White Ironstone Cockson and Seddon Ewer/Pitcher Cable and Ring
Offering a very graceful Antique White Ironstone Large Ewer/Pitcher featuring a Victorian Cable and Ring relief design on both sides of the top of the handle. The cable crosses over the top of the handle creating a thumb rest. The bottom stamp"Imperial Ironstone China Cockson and Seddon" dates it to the 1870's. The pitcher is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. Some fine light crazing overall and one blemish on one side which appears to be a dirty spot that doesn't wipe off, not very noticeable at all. This can be seen in the 6th picture. The pitcher stands about 12 3/4" tall, is about 8 1/2" from tip of spout to edge of handle and weighs about 4 lbs unpackaged. I will insure it for shipping.

Antique Transfer print ironstone pitcher, White Lilies, Beautiful USA piece
This is an ironstone china pitcher that I purchased from an estate. It is very heavy vitreous china. No cracks chips or crazing. A few rub marks on the transfer print. It is White lilies with green leaves and a touch of pink in behind the design. Very pretty. There is orange luster fired on and it bubbled a little on the handle but doesn't hurt the overall look. I am a china painter and I work in lusters and overglaze colors) It is 6' H X 7 1/2" spout to handle. This piece is a very nice old example that was made in the USA. The back has a circle with National China Co and an eagle in the center sitting on a stack of books. Part of the design is worn off but I can make out Western Gem and the initials ELD only because I saw it on the back of another ebay item. Lovely antique white ironstone pitcher and bowl. Mark on the bottom identifies it as by Edwin Bennett Pottery Co. of Baltimore MD. Both pieces are marked. Although the mark on the pitcher is very light at this point in time. Both bowl and pitcher have staining and mild crazing(please see photos) There is a hairline crack near the top of the bowl(I have provided two views of the crack- one from the interior of the bowl and one from the exterior) There are also three small marks/ dots on the interior of the bowl. I believe that these are from the way in which the bowl was set to dry following the glazing process. There are also a few scratches in the bottom of the bowl simply from use. Being over 150 years old it does have a few issues such as a chip on the spout, one on the bottom and there is a crowsfoot on the bottom which does not affect the use as it holds water and does not leak. The bowl is 15" accross and 5" high. Weighs 5.5lbs. Made by Mellor and Taylor Company, England in business from 1887-1904. The pitcher is 12" tall 24" around the largest part and weighs 3 lbs. Made by Royal Warrenty Best Ironstone China, M. Alcock Company, England. These 2 items are of the simplist design. making them timeless and ironstone was very durable. ANTIQUE W B Ja& Co IRONSTONE CHINA WHITE PITCHER& BOWL SET LIVERPOOL OHIO You are bidding on an Antique White Ironstone China Pitcher and Bowl Set made by W. B. Ja& Co. of East Liverpool. Ohio. This is Wm. Brunt whose Family Association made pottery from 1847 to 1902. The mark is an Eagle or Phoenix which is a trademark that they used on their Ironstone China. The pitcher is about 12 inches tall and the bowl measures about 14 1/2 inches in diameter at the top. Both pitcher and bowl are in good used condition I have pictured the flaws please see pictures also handle feels like it may be cracked in center but still in tack. There is an embossed flower on the top of the pitcher handle. There is some light crazing that is normal for pottery of this age.

1890 Ironstone Antique Blue and White Faded Pitcher and Basin
1890 antique England antique pitcher. The pitcher has a few chips on it. There are 3 very small chips on the rim of the pitcher. You might be able to see the white specks in the photos. The biggest chip is in the side of the pitcher. You can check that chip out in the pictures as well. It's not too big, some paint might do the trick. The basin has no chips or cracks, but it has some pain spilled in it. You can see the white in the photos, that's the paint. Overall it's not too bad.

Circa 1887 Antique Victorian White Ironstone Pitcher Transferware Jasmine Motif
For sale is an antique ironstone pitcher with ribbed upper band. Spout, and lower four corners. The pitcher is decorated front and back with a design called Jasmine, which was registered in 1887. It stands 7 3/8" at its tallest, 7" from tip of spout to outer edge of handle, and 4" deep. The pitcher is marked: Jasmine R. No. 75878 T.G. F.P. I think.it's very hard to read) There also is an old raised diamond-shape mark-not filled in, a stamped 3, and three incised letters that look like FCP. I have not been able to identify this maker, but I do believe it to be English. The pitcher is in very good condition: No chips or breaks. There's a tiny hairline where the handle attaches at the top and it looks like someone might have used a bit of glue in the seam between the handle and the pitcher; there are a couple of tiny pits ... morein the glaze; and the bottom rim is rough from many decades of sitting on hard surfaces. All-in-all in very good condition for its age. We have a smoke and perfume free environment. CONDITION NOTE: All of our items are vintage or antique.
