The design disappeared then, to reappear after firing. The English potters were all copying

Antique Brown Transferware Pitcher Staffordshire Ironstone Aesthetic Movement 18
This auction is for an antique brown transferware pitcher. Its design is Aesthetic Movement style- so popular in the 1880's which is when I believe this piece was made. It is almost 8 inches tall and in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Does have some all over age crazing which is expected in a piece this age. Has some gold accents. It is unmarked. But certainly appears like a Staffordshire, England pottery piece. This pitcher was probably a part of a set. A great transferware piece for your collection! Email with any questions. Antique 19th C English COFFEE POT, Brownhills*Japanese pattern*Staffordshire
NO FAIR OFFER DENIED*This coffee pot is decorated in the popular"Japanese style" with bamboo handle. Bamboo leaves, cherry blossoms, and trellis. The pot has a stippled body and overglaze enamel painted colors of dark brown, green, pink, and ochre. It is about 7-1/2" 19 cm) high. And 7" 18 cm) wide from spout to handle. The condition is excellent. No chips. Cracks, or restorations. Please note the lid which does have what appears to be from(maybe) old dust or grease from sitting on a display counter.I washed it but it has a stain and did not know what type of cleaner to use. The coffee pot dates c. 1880. It was made by Brownhills Pottery Co. Tunstall, Staffordshire, and is marked with their pattern number 1469, and an impressed BP CO. The wares are usually mis-identified as majolica(perhaps because the colors used are similar to some of those wares) In fact, this is a stoneware bodied jug with relief moulding and a smear glaze. Another distinctive feature of this particular pattern is the"orange peel" texture of the surface. For other examples of this pattern. Antique Green/Blue English Transferware PITCHER/Vase! Victorian Staffordshire!
Gorgeous Victorian Pitcher! Love this shabby chic treasure! Wonderful ornate blue/green design with flowers. Scrolls, leaves, on a HUGE embossed vase/pitcher! In amazingly excellent condition considering this is an oldie! Although I am unfamiliar with the pattern and there are no markings on the pitcher. I believe this to be Victorian and from Staffordshire/Stoke-on-Trent. It would have originally had a water bowl underneath, and quite possibly an entire'dressing' table set. My favorite of these pieces is the pitcher, because it's versatile, practical and holds anything! This one is particularly large~spout to base is 11 inches and spout to(gorgeous applied) handle is 10" The inside is white and clean but it looks like someone stored water inside and much of the inside has(shiny) glaze loss that you can feel. No damage. Some ... morelight wear/scratches here and there, but overall EXCELLENT condition with many, many more years of life. Fabulous and impressive piece! FREE SHIPPING! Email with any questions or info. HappyTreasure Hunting! Best. Debbie Check out my!

Antique 1800's Mason's Ironstone 6" Staffordshire Transferware Milk Pitcher 28oz
This is a Mason's mid 19th century milk pitcher produced in Staffordshire England. This pitcher is from the estate of an affluent New York farm family who had worked and lived on this property since the 1850's. The pitcher has an eight sided or octagon shape with a deep blue transferware pattern over opaque white ironstone. The bottom of this pitcher is entirely flat with no rims. The pitcher is completely covered inside and out with a glossy finish including the entire bottom. The glossy finish appears to have been brushed on the base as opposed to the rest of the pitcher. The solid handle was applied to the pitcher at some point in the making. The pitcher has a rural scenic design along with very attractive leaves and flowers surrounding the top rim. The leaf pattern around the top is identical to the one used on their Vista pattern. ... moreThe rest of the pattern is absolutely gorgeous. I have not found another pitcher like it. The handle is in the form of a snake. This pitcher has an early. Simple mark on it's base. This under glaze deep blue inky makers mark reads"MASON'S" over a crown, and underneath reads"PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA" in a banner. Variations of this mark were used from the 1820's up until it became law in 1890 to identify the country of origin at which time England was added. This appears to be a very early mark. I have taken several pictures for your better understanding. I will be very happy to answer any questions you might have. As to the condition; This piece is in outstanding condition. It was only owned by one family and was well cared for. There are no chips. Cracks or damage of any kind. There is a slight yellowing on the bottom of the base. It measures just over 6" high. From front to back with the handle it measures 5 1/4" Without the handle it measures about 5" across. The pitcher holds 28 ounces comfortably. We pack everything very carefully. We ship immediately after payment is confirmed. I'll be happy to combine shipping whenever

Antique 1800's Chelsea Grandmothers Ware Sprigged Staffordshire Cameo Pitcher
This is an outstanding porcelain pitcher made in Staffordshire England during the early to mid 1800's. This style has been called Chelsea ware. Grandmother's ware and Sprigged ware. This pitcher has an octagonal eight sided shape. Do not confuse this pitcher with an Ironstone Opaque Pitcher. Because it is not. This piece is made of a see through bone china porcelain material and is decorated with applied deep violet blue cameos. It came from the estate of a farm family who has owned, lived and worked on the same premises since the 1850's. Many of their antiques were passed on through at least three generations. I know this because I am a close friend of the family. I spent a lot of time researching this item before I listed it. In my pictures you can clearly see the seams on this pitcher. Even the snake handle itself is solid ... morewith it's own seams. Back then. The handles were made separately and later applied to the pitcher. The modern remakes are a solid piece with hollow handles so that you can clearly see the holes from the handles going right inside of the pitcher. The material on this piece is a white porcelain with a smooth thick glossy finish. The blue Cameos were expertly applied. You can actually see the bubbles in the glaze surrounding them along with the lines and crevices that a modern pitcher would never have. The clear glaze that covers this pitcher contains a black ash. Bubbles, inconsistencies and other defects which are quite common to these 19th century glazes. I believe this particular pitcher, being a type of high class bone china porcelain, was strictly made for looks and display purposes. In the early 1800's it was normal for these pieces to be unmarked. Much later, the laws changed and they had to be. I have started this lovely antique at a very low price. It is worth so much more. I have taken several pictures for your better understanding. I will be happy to answer any questions you might have. As to the condition; There are no chips. Cracks, or damage of any kind. There
