MARY GREGORY PERFUME BOTTLE WITH STOPPER CLEAR GLASS WHITE ENAMELING c.1860-1880
For your consideration is an antique Mary Gregory clear glass perfume bottle with stopper. The white enamel decoration is absolutely exquisite. The front side displays a Victorian figure standing in front of a fence railing reaching out to some birds. There is also a tall floral motif on the front. On each side there are three birds in flight. The top side of the jar has small designs. Possibly flowers and the neck has three gold painted rings. There is gold around the very top of the bottle as well. The stopper is hand blown and has a pontil mark on the bottom. The perfume stands 4” without the stopper and 4-3/4” with the stopper in. It is tapered from 2-1/4” at the bottom to 1-3/4” at the top. It is 1-1/2” wide. This bottle would have been produced during the period of 1860 to1880. The condition is excellent. I have examined every inch ... moreof the bottle and find no cracks. Chips, nicks, scratches or repairs. The white enameling shows no signs of wear. Scratches, nicks or deterioration. There is some very minor staining on the inside bottom of the bottle and there is some minimal wear to the underside. The gold decoration shows some wear consistent with age. A fellow eBayer has notified me that the stopper in this bottle may not be the original stopper. You are looing at a pair of antique hand blown and hand painted vanity/perfume bottles. The glass is white with gold hand painted decoration. The items measure 3 1/2" tall without the stopper and about 5" tall with the stopper. At the items widest point they measure approx. 2 1/2" As you can see in the pictures there is some ware of the gold as well one bottle has a small chip that was glued back to the item. They were made in a small hidden village in Czechoslovakia. Later on taken over by DESNA glass. All of these bottles are handmade in moulds(forms) that originated from Riedel in 1908. The moulds(forms) have been broken over the years and most of them are not available. These perfume bottles were handmade. By pressing the heated glass into the moulds. Hint: original old piece you can judge by little air bubbles in the glass(old ancestors had no posibility to push the tiny bubbles out from the mould) So little tiny bubles is not fault, however it is another sign of the genuine Czechoslovakian glass. Antique WHITE GLASS CUT BACK TO COBALT BLUE Perfume Scent Bottle HAND PAINTED
Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE! Up for auction is a unique Perfume Scent Bottle. It has cobalt blue glass on the interior with clear glass around that and then white glass on the exterior. The white glass has then been cut back to reveal the blue glass interior. Such a pretty glass effect and you can see it best from the bottom or when you hold it up to light. I have seen this done with items made in France and Czechoslovakia. This little bottle appears to be c. late 1800’s to early 1900’s. The screw on lid is silver tone metal but it is not sterling. The threading has been dented a little over the years so the lid screws on but is a loose fit. There is still a lot of the gold painted detail left but it is thinning in a few areas. I think there may have been some colored. Floral paintings on the ... morewhite glass that have worn down with age. You can just barely make out the faded outlines. No chips. Cracks or repairs but I do see a couple microscopic nibbles to the bottom edge. They are super tiny but you might be able to see them in the photos of the bottom as they are not seen when the bottle standing up for display. It looks like the letter"C" painted on the bottom but I don't know the significance of this. Maybe it's just the owners initial( The bottle with lid in place is 3 7/8 inches tall and 1 ½ inches across at the widest part which is the shoulder area just below the cap. This is a beautiful peach color( glass perfume bottle with a bird stopper. It is in very good condition with no chips cracks or breaks. It could use a better cleaning as it has been stored for many years. Very beautiful piece that is approximately 6" tall. It has a crackled finish look to it on the bottom of the bottle but it is made to look this way. It is a very beautiful bottle!

Very nice perfume bottle in good condition. The paint has come off some areas of the botton and there is a small nick on left side of bottom. I have tried to pick it up on camera but haven't been successful.I will keep trying and add picture if I get a picture. Comes from smoke free home. We do have pets.
