A superb and very beautiful amethyst glass and silver gilt scent bottle from France. And dating from about 1860. The silver gilt mounts are finely engraved with foliage. And there is a fitted glass stopper. The body of the scent is elegantly shaped and the whole is beautifully designed and worked. The condition is excellent. Hinge is good. As is closure. The stopper fits perfectly. There are no dents in the silver gilt which is a lovely shade of pale gold. I can find no chips to the glass either. All together a wonderful scent to have in the hand. ANTIQUE FRENCH CUT CRYSTAL PERFUME/SCENT BOTTLE IN GILDED CASKET
Here I have a gorgeous antique French perfume casket. The set includes four cut crystal bottles with faceted stoppers. The bottles rest in a gilded casket with a flower swag design. The cut bottles are are 1 3/4 inch square and just under 4 1/2 inches tall to top of faceted stopper. The casket base is aprox 4.25 inch square. For those of you who collect these caskets you must realize this is a large example. I would say this set is in very nice antique condition. One stopper is frozen in place and I would just leave it that way as you do not want to crack the neck off. I cleaned 3 of the bottles with the free stoppers and they display well with mild residue. The forth bottle with the frozen stopper has more and this can be seen in the photos. Some small edge nicks& stopper tip nicks. As you can see this is a very nice set and displays ... morevery well. It has a weight of almost 2 pounds as the bottles are solid cut crystal. I will wrap each bottle for safe shipment. Package will be shipped out via Fedex Ground with tracking. I can not determine if the portrait is painted on porcelain or not. There are no breaks or cracks to the guilloche. Ormolu mounts are stamped FRANCE and I see no breaks to the floral swags. With the stopper in place the perfume bottle measures 6 1/2 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches at the base. I cannot find any markings on any of the pieces- However. We were told from the estate where we found many treasures of amazing antiques that these perfume bottles with matching tray are said to have belong ed to the women's grandmother and from the late 1800's. These antique perfume bottles were found at an estate of a couple who traveled the world. Made of thick ruby red glass, the bottle is mounted inside elaborate bronze base and bottle neck with handles. Bronze have beautiful relief of vine leafs and grapes all around the bottle neck and on the bottom plate with bronze cut in shape of grape leafs. The stopper is tall, 6 panels cut,with frosted dauber which is marked on the bottom in red with number 93. Antique PERFUME BOTTLE Vanity Set CHAMPLEVE COMPACT Brass & Ceramic FRENCH MADE
Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE! Up for sale is a rare and gorgeous French Vanity Set with Perfume Bottles and Mirrored Compact. The set is nestled in a brass holder that fits onto a large ceramic jardinière type pot. You can remove the brass tray from the pot but I think it was probably attached at one time. Lovely colors of blue and yellow are the most pronounced but the designs surrounding the pot are multi-colored. On the bottom it is marked"Made in France" and very lightly. Under the white glaze. Is the number"1667" I tried hard to capture this in the photos for you. I am not sure what the number means. The brass tray is in very good condition, no damage but could use a bit more cleaning. There are two different major designs. On the larger sides(the front& back) ... moreis the picture of bird in a tree surrounded by flowers. On each end is the painting of a single flower. The glaze& paintings are in excellent condition. No chips, cracks or repairs noted to any of the glass. The stoppers of the faceted bottles are in excellent condition with only a couple tiny nibbles to the ends. The bottle without the stopper has a screw top golden lid. The center button on the lid pushes down but I can't figure out how to get the"plunger" to pop up. I am not so familiar with this type of bottle. The internal brass syphon tube was broken off so I have placed a plastic tube onto what was left so it reaches down to the bottom of the bottle. You will see this in the photos. The small brass compact has a floral champlevé design on the lid in orange, burgundy& navy. The internal glass mirror is intact with no cracks. This is a very heavy item and will cost a little more than usual to ship. With the bottles inside the brass tray the entire piece measures 8 1/4 inches tall from the table up to the top of the stoppers. Antique French porcelain perfume bottle with liquid and solid perfume
This cute perfume was found in the south of France. It has a top section for liquid perfume and a bottom section for solid perfume. The top is empty. But some of the solid remains. It smells still very nice. The bottom half is decorated with Egyptian style bathing beauties with harps etc. I believe this dates to the first half of the 20th century. The bottle is in good condition with as flaw that there are two chips to the gold band as shown. There is no maker an this piece. Welcome to Antiques& Moore! This listing is for a gorgeous antique French engraved crystal perfume bottle/absinthe bottle with flask tumbler. C. late 18th Century- early 19th Century. This beautiful bottle has an intricate engraved design with ribbon garlands and florals. With one end having a tumbler identifies this bottle as both an absinthe bottle and a perfume bottle. The tumbler has a gilt finish on the silver and the perfume end is also gilded silver further decorated with an engraved monogram and a decorative band around the outer perimeter. Tiny interior glass stopper is stuck and we chose to not try and forcefully remove it. The gilt silver tumbler and collar around the neck of the bottle are both marked with French silver hallmarks. A terrific. Unusual antique, probably French, double-ended cranberry glass perfume bottle. With engine-turned decoration to its silver gilt hinged-lid ends. Dating from around 1860/80, bearing European silver control marks and in very good condition with slight edge nibbling to the glass and one or two very shallow dents to the silver, it weighs 51.0 grams and measures 4 ½ inches long. The bottle measures 6" tall(with cap) and is in excellent condition with no"flea bites" at the rim. Or indications of use, it is clean. The cap with frosted glass stopper weighs 74.1 grams. The silver top fits securely, but not too snug, the stopper has some chips, the rim of the cap is wavy, it has some minor dings and scratches, mostly surface scratches commensurate with infrequent cleaning. Overall, this piece is really pretty and well crafted, which is evident in the high grade materials, cut glass and 950 silver. Description Antique 8pc French Saint Louis crystal dresser or vanity set. Comprising of three perfume bottles with gorgeous faceted stoppers. A dropper bottle or« flacon stilligoutte» two lidded powder jars or boxes, and two oval shaped pin dish trays. Each piece is of quality hand blown crystal, decorated with an all over intricate textured etched cameo surface. Trimmed in gold highlights. A beautiful grouping, ideal for your vanity or dresser and just perfect to add to a perfume collection. Please see pictures of measurements. The perfume bottles are of different sizes. Arranged from smallest to largest. Each retaining gorgeous faceted stoppers topped by a gilded star. The stoppers are engraved with a number to correspond with matching numbers found on the bases of the bottles, indicating they are original. The flacon stilligoutte ... moreis a rare addition, the valve opening to dispense a single drop or more of perfume. The gilt metal mounting is marked Saint Louis.
