Vintage Marble Lintel pediment cornice Architectural fragment
Handsome Vintage Marble Architectural fragment from Pediment Cornice Eyebrow Most probably a type of high quality Carera Marble with handsome patina. This Architectural accent came out of a very old pre 1900 building in Montgomery Alabama. MEASUREMENT-Approximately 20 inches long and about 8 inches WIDE. Very heavy. MORE are available if interested. PRICE IS FOR ONE PIECE I can only assume that it was originally a lintel of some sort. It has an Urban relict feel to it and could look great in a garden or some modern Office or home. This was originally some sort of an exterior lintel facade. Most historic commercial buildings have cornices to cap their facades. Usually found in buildings constructed before 1900, approx 70 years old or more and each piece is an great vintage Architectural element. Many like these could be used as art displayed ... moreon interior and exterior walls. As you can see in the photos there is aging but nothing out of character on such pieces. These have been outside for 50 plus years. The cornice could possibly even be polished-I have not tried it to clean them or polish. Although this old patina is handsome as is. An Architectural like this could be used for various purposes other than what it was intentionally made. I am not certain of its original use but I think it originally would fit originally across the top of the window. From research I found that heavy lintels. Like droopy eyebrows, ostensibly were originally used to protect the building, and to decorate it. During the last century. Cast stone was commonly used and even in the 19th century. for exterior window and door surrounds or lintels, copings, parapets and balustrades, cornices and friezes, and sculptural ornament. This architectural fragment is one part of this Southern Antique collector's possessions. Who as the old homes were destroyed back in the 1930's- 1950'd, this collector carefully salvaged the old architecturals and stored in for more than half of a century. This is a wonderful vintage early piece. It was probably above a door. It still has the flashing attached to it on the top. Beautiful Old Gilt Angel Head & Wings Molded Vintage Architectural Trim 5" x 10"
This is a beautiful piece of architectural trim. Perhaps from above a Victorian door or window, or from a large mirror or picture frame. It measures almost 10" across and 5" high. The angel has long flowing hair, a cloth drape across its chest, and the face is lovely. The wings have been repaired, and there are several places at the lower edge that are unpainted and appear to have missing pieces, and one in the center bottom that has been touched up with gold paint. Except for this touch-up, the paint is old and appears to be original. It is not carved, but rather molded from some sort of wood-like material, similar to molded sawdust. Ornate, wooden, architectural pediment, featuring old paint, applied gesso or carved ornamentation, and two drawer pulls that have been added in existing nail holes- little uneven which adds to the over all vintage charm of the piece. I'm not sure what this piece was originally a part of, but it a perfect compliment to a shabby cottage or country French farmhouse decor. I've sanded it smooth and then dry brushed three layers of different colored chalk paint over the original paint for a one of a kind piece. Two Antique/Vintage Cast Iron Pediment Wall Hanging Decor Architectural Pieces. These pieces are architectural in nature. They were out side all these years. Probably on a porch or around a door. They have weathered beautifully. If I were displaying them, I would leave them just as they are. They measure 20 x 8 1/2 and 21 x 9. They were made to hang together. One is slightly longer than the other. As you can see in the pictures, one has 4 leaves and the other has 7. Three of the leaves are missing from the one with 4 leaves. They still look amazing hanging together. I have adjusted the price to cover this. It is the leaves and acorn pattern. There are some full acorns and some caps only- they are intended to be that way. They are flat on one side and sort of three dimensional on the other as the leaves curve out. I also think they would be ... morenice staggered with a mirror in between. It has a very heavy look- It is in very good condition for its age. MEASUREMENTS-Approximately 50 inches long and about 8 inches high. Very heavy. 6 are available- price is for one lintel It has an vintage feel to it and could look great in some modern Office or home. GOOD CONDITION WITH OBVIOUS RUST FROM BEING OUTSIDE but no holes or cracks. The Lintel or cornice has a nice bevel to it-a handsome architectural accent. Vintage Chippy Architectural Salvage Header or Pediment
This is GoRgEoUs! My photos don't do this piece justice. It measures just over 37" wide and stands about 7 1/4" high. It would be beautiful hung above a door. Piece of furniture, mirror, etcetera. Would even make a lovely valance above a window- use your imagination! Perfectly imperfect with all of the shabby, chippy character you look for in an authentic, salvaged piece. Here is a most unusual garden art/ornament in the form of a modern industrial style sculpture consisting of a heavy cast and hammered aluminum spiral mounted to a heavy cast iron plinth on a steel pin. Here is a most wonderful pair of gargoyle shaped garden ornaments rescued from an old house by a salvage company. This is a great set of architectural salvage for your home or garden. And a superb example of lavish ornament not often seen here, consisting of 2 highly detailed winged gargoyles sitting upright on lion paw feet as columns or caryatids, with molded details kiln fired into a large heavy 2 piece installation for a fireplace or building ornament. Measures 27" x 12" each gargoyle weighs a massive 31 pounds unpacked. On close inspection, these pieces may have been manufactured originally as garden ornaments, but it is difficult to say with certainty. Vintage Carousel Architectural Cherub Topper
Measures 16 feet wide by 7 feet tall and 4 feet deep in the center. It does show worn paint and one of the cherubs arms has been repaired. It weighs approx 800 lbs. You would be responsible for handling the shipping though I would be happy to assist your shipper of choice as to hours of when they could pick it up. I would also be willing to store it for a short period of time until you can arrange pick up. This piece was used in one of the older casinos here over an entrance. I'm not sure if the casino had it made for that specific use or if it was originally off a carousel. Architectural Salvage Eastlake Pediment Carved /Appliqued Oak Vintage Decorative
This is an Eastlake-style pediment and my best guess is that it's off a dresser or a mirror. It is carved and the arch is an applique. The oak has no stain or varnish left on it and is quite lovely in that it's survived to find a new use as a decorative wall hanging. It is 22" long. 7" high and a little more than an inch thick.
