Antique VICTORIAN architectural wood window box valence carved figure head
Antique Victorian window box valences with female carved heads. They are wood with gesso type material forming decorations. Offering a set of 3 valences(50" wide X 6" deep X 14" tall. They came out of an old Victorian estate in Massachusetts. They are not in perfect condition as there are some medallions missing as well as a several chips in the gold finish. I have most of the missing medallions and the other areas can be restored. These would look fantastic in an old Victorian or Colonial style home. Please rely on photos for cosmetic condition. Any other determination would be speculative. They are being offered as is and must be picked up. This piece measures: 69" long x 35 1/2 to top peak and each side measures 50" long. For sale I have a nice piece of antique architectural salvage from an old farm house. As you can see from the measurements this piece is quite large. I wish I had wall space to keep this beauty. The patina is an aged dark wood tone worn look. Some pieces from the front are missing from the design. This piece was once at the top peak of the house. Weight about 25 pounds. This piece had to be cut down due to lots of damage. I have trimmed up the edges and glued some of the boards down. Some of the boards are a little loose. But if this piece is hung on a wall it is fine. Gorgeous Antique Victorian Era Cast Iron Architectural Pediment Fretwork Piece Busybusybusy treasure hunting week for you. I shopped at a closing antique store. Went to the flea market, and still have some items from the weeks ago farm estate auction- there’s lots of neat stuff that you don‘t want to miss! Oh-So one of my favorites this week- it's a gorgeous Victorian era antique cast iron architectural piece- a pediment or piece of fretwork from a home. Or perhaps a garden gate, I am not sure, as I just have the one, and cannot put the rest of the"peices" back together to see. I'm thrilled for the piece that I have, though- it is just so pretty in shape and design, and it looks just as good whether it's up like I have in photo 1 or up like I have it in my 23rd photo. It has a very old(probably multiple layers) finish ... moreof black paint, and you can see it's chippy, shabby and worn in many spots- and in most of those spots down to the iron underneath- and you can see a layer of dark surface rust where the metal is exposed. The rust spots are very old, surface only with no thick spots holes, etc. This piece is totally structurally sound and weighs a whopping 6 3/4 lbs. I'm showing you both front and back(if there is a difference, it seems the same on both sides to me as far as design) as well as both sides and top and bottom in my photos. On one short end and its sides(don't know if it's top or bottom- it's the top in most of my photos except 23) you can see where it looks like it was connected to a larger piece- see photos 11 and 16-17 for the side view of where it looks like it was separated, and photos 18-19 of that top where it looks like it was connected and separated. I cannot tell if it was cut or broken from its larger piece, as rough, not flat, but there's no jagged or sharp edges- see my photos. Beautiful Oak Pediment with carved leaves and burl embellishments. Also Eastlake spoon type carving on the ends that also have a hint of the Art Nouveau look! There is a arch in the middle that shows that it is attached with dowels. Not nails. Also the top(or could be the bottom if you like) has a ledge that is 1 5/8" wide. Gorgeous Antique Victorian Carved Walnut Architectural PEDIMENT Crest Crown
ANTIQUE CARVED PEDIMENT CREST Striking antique Victorian carved walnut dresser. Mirror or bed pediment crest measuring 28-1/2" long, about 16" tall and about 1-5/8" deep at the thickest point. Featuring simple carved and stylized graduated arms on each side edge, center is finished with two incised leaves around a tiered floral mount- an applied crown or crest completes the top. The peak is pierce carved with a charming heart design- crest is made of two pieces that are block mounted with an overlap creating an almost three-dimensional effect. Condition is very nice with no cracks. Discoloration, worm holes or damage- it may have a few tiny scuffs or rubs and some age related usage wear, but has been hanging on my bedroom wall over a large cheval mirror for years and other than cased dust, it is in wonderful shape! ANTIQUE VICTORIAN TIN WINDOW VALANCES ~ SET OF 3 ~ This auction is for a set of 3 beautiful antique Victorian French style window valances. I believe they are made of tin as they are very pliable and can bend and also be unbent easily. The tin is mounted onto a same shape piece of wood behind it for stability. This is a matching set of 3 although one of them has the center medallion piece missing. Each valance is mounted on 1" thick wood behind it with the hardware to attach it to the walls. They are not in perfect condition. They need a little bit of unbending and moving about a bit and then 2 of them will be pretty close to perfect antique condition. The third one does have the center medallion piece missing which isn't obvious when it stands alone, only alongside the other two do you notice it. The existing color shows a lot of ... moreage wear, originally a brass/gold color they've mellowed to a bronze.
