Antique wood colonial window door PEDIMENTS - set of 2
Rare. Unusual architectural antiques. VERY hearvy, thick, completely original, mixed woods and veneers. I've never seen any quite like them. We have had them in the last 8 attics hoping to redo an old historical home one day. What can I say? WE are"antique" now and need to pass these treasures on to someone younger who can do them justice in a home. They could be incorporated into other areas, but I imagine were intended to be PEDIMENTS over big windows and/or doors way back when. Please study the photos to see just what you would be getting. They are both quite sturdy. But could use refinishing and reinforcing. Antique Architectural Salvage Wood Mahogany Shabby French Chic Wall Door Header
Up for sale is a salvaged mahogany wood door header or wall décor piece. I purchased this from an architectural salvage warehouse in Cleveland. OH. It was solid mahogany wood with a beautiful wreath with ribbon carving on it. I took it home, cleaned it up and painted a creamy white coat of Annie Sloan chalk paint on it. I only very slightly distressed and detailed the carving and edging of the piece with gold applique paint. It is so pretty! Appx 1/2" width. 16"H and 36"L. Check out my other estate items. Each of these 1880s solid yellow pine corner blocks for trimming doorways and window openings measures 1 ¼” thick x 5 3/8” square and has untouched. Old dry surface. The milled/reeded cross design in each block has been accented in black paint for ebonized effect and each shows some dirt, wear and scratching to the old varnish. 2 blocks have surface chips and some have smears of wall paint on the edges. OMG! Check listings- I am selling another one at the same time- identical for those looking for TWO pediments. 40 inches wide- 15 inches tall and 3-1/2 inches deep! It appears to be Victorian era- applied wood design on heavy solid wood base. Is in remarkable condition- no major cracks- a vertical crack in applied wood swirl- 1/2 inch thick. Would be amazing inside over a doorway. Fireplace or just on a wall as a décor piece- can also be used outside as originally intended. No dry rot or problems. Finding two the same is next to impossible!
