So Fab & Shabby! Unique Antique Architectural Pediment Architect Design Model
What a fabulous and unusual find this is. I have to admit I have never seen a piece like this before. The man I purchase this from said it was an architectural sample used by architects. Not sure that is true but makes sense. It is plastic. But old plastic. Sits on a piece of old wood so it can stand by itself but it could also be hung on the wall. It originally had a cardboard or paper backing on it but it is gone now. It's a beautiful design and could easily be painted to your liking. I like it this way. Nice size too.25" long x 11 1/2"

Antique Architectural Salvage Pediment Hand Carved and Inlaid Floral Design
Description: Here is a gorgeous pediment that came from the estate of a well-to-do Hartford CT woman who loved to collect beautiful items. This item came from an upstairs storage closet with other antiques and architectural elements that the woman had bought in 1983 when she was planning on building a summer house on Long Island Sound. The invoice showed that she paid $450 for it over 30 years ago. Supposedly it had been carved and inlaid by a well known Connecticut carver but her niece could not remember who for sure. It appears to be carved from two layers of solid mahogany and then two pieces at either end appear to have been nicely inlaid with boxwood in a floral pattern. The carvings are deep and wonderfully done and you can even still see the chisel marks on the top edge which would not have been seen. There are all the usual marks. ... moreNicks and stuff you would expect to see on a piece of this age as well as a nibble from each end of the bottom. The color and glow of the patina is just first rate as you can tell from looking at my photos. Antique Victorian Wood House Fretwork Architectural Salvage Cut Out Design Listed is a circa 1890's salvaged two sided exterior wood architectural fretwork. Removed from a Victorian house in Central New York. I did not attempt to clean this item. Just the way it is when removed. The old paint on both sides looks like the color mocha cream. There is some paint chipping and great old paint crackle. On the right top edge there is a saw mark and the old pine wood has a very slight bow. Dimensions 11 3/4" tall. 22 1/2 1/2" wide and 3/4" thick. The wood is solid. No soft spots. Thank you for viewing. Payment is to be received within 3 days after the close of the auction.
