It is made of oak and is currently painted. The top has a simple pediment with crown molding along the top and beadwork. There are two doors each with 3 raised panels and a beveled mirror in the middle. There were two drawers at the bottom. This would make a great backbar. Bookcase, or butler's pantry. Up for auction is this beautiful. Very ornate, solid oak cabinet door. It was originally on an oak sideboard/cabinet Circa 1860-1900. The front of the door is a creme color which looks to have been painted years ago. This is a solid door. There are some nicks/wear as to be expected for age/use(doesn't take away from it's beauty) The carving on the front is in great condition. It has one brass hinge and a victorian brass pull on the front. Measures approx 13 1/2" in height, 18" in width, and 1" in depth. This is a Great Architectural piece for displaying on a table/wall! 1870s HUGE Folk Art Architectural Church Finial Primitive OAK Newel Post Cap
GIANT. Original, solid oak, beehive finial. Incredible primitive patina. Would also make a striking garden ornament. Salvaged from late, 19th century, Chicago church. To give a better idea of the grand staircase this was recovered from, I saved a piece of the original newel post that once supported it(last photo) Overall it measured over 7 feet tall! Now, this architectural gem makes a breathtaking piece of folk art. It proudly displays its age and history. Apparently when electricity caught on, someone added a newel post lamp on top to illuminate the stairway. This item weighs about 33 LBS and measures approx. 16 inches tall. the diameter is about 12 inches. There is a strong likelihood you will never see another piece like this again! Measurements are approximate as edges on one side are slightly beveled. Only one edge(1 1/16 inches) is decorative. I do not know its purpose or function. Please see pictures. An oak pair of.detail pieces is what I am listing. They were part of a table that an older feller had stuffed in his barn and used for who know what. It was a horrid brown poopy color. And cream. And red, and another brown.and you get where I am going. There is still some paint in the crevices where the embellishments are placed. The details are added and not part of the larger wood. The oak is quarter sawn so it has that amazing tiger oak look. The measurements are without the pegs since they all aren't there. I am sure that the artist in you will think of beautiful items that these could become. I am located in central Illinois and used to own ... morea small sawmill business. A few years ago we sold the saw but kept the lumber thinking of all the wonderfully beautiful things that could be created with the wood.furniture. Art, and anything in between. ARCHITECTURAL ANTIQUE : CARVED OAK TRIM FRAGMENT
HAND CARVED OAK TRIM FRAGMENT: Very nicely carved section of oak casing trim. The oak has the darkened original varnish/stain finish at one end of the piece. And a cleaned medium oak finish at the other end. This was done to illustrate the darkened state of finish that the piece was found in, and to contrast it with a more natural finish. The thick piece of oak has been hand carved in an acanthus leaf design, with a ball and reed bottom banding. Each end has a 45 degree mitered cut. The oak trim has been mounted on a hand carved white marble fragment with a carved acanthus leaf relief. The combination of the marble base and oak trim resulted in an interesting composition of hand carved architectural art. The oak casing trim is 21 3/4" long x 4 1/2" high x 2 1/4" thick. The marble fragment base is 12" long x 6" high ... morex 2 1/2" thick. The overall mounted height is 7 1/2" weight is 10 1/2 lbs. Please note that item was photographed under studio lighting. The stairwell is phenomenal! Just look at the pictures. WOWOWOW! There are three purple and yellow leaded glass windows. There are two other decorated windows as well. etching. Etc. The baseboards are tall and ornate. There are all sorts of other doors. the ones upstairs have the framed glass that you can tilt to get airflow. This is the second of two custom cast iron ornaments I'm offering. My late fiancé bought them in previously owned condition and we have no idea of the pieces' age. Pics show the front and back of the ornament for sale. The ornament is coated in two layers of paint. The first being white and the second brown, and there is some rust where the paint has peeled and flaked away. Overall dimensions 20-1/8 inches long x 7-3/4 inches wide.

Pics show the front and back of the ornament for sale and the broken oak leaf is in the middle of the overall piece. The ornament is coated in two layers of paint. The first being white and the second brown, and there is some rust where the paint has peeled and flaked off. I have two pieces listed but this piece is priced a bit less than the second since half of one oak leaf has broken off. The section of the repair needs to be sandblasted or paint stripped and cleaned up before the broken piece is welded back on. Overall dimensions 17 inches long x 8-1/2 inches wide.

It just takes your imagination for a use! Each flower carving is about 8" tall. The total panel is 44 ¼“long and 32” tall. Each board is 3 ¼ wide and 33 tall including the tongues. The end boards are 2 ¼ wide and 34” tall. You get 12 carved and 2 end cap boards. They are in very nice shape for being so old. They were refinished at some point and are nice and clean.
