Although it was made in Belgium and published in 1954 by The Regina ... morePress in New York, it was presented to me on June 17, 1956. Inside it is listed as"Remembrance of My First Holy Communion" This 3" X 4 1/4" X 3/4 inch book has a celluloid covered front and back cover. On the inside cover is a gold toned thin medal crucifix which is in perfect shape. There is also a page that lists, in neat writing, my name, address, Church, date and officiating Pastor of my First Communion which is filled out in ink. This is the ONLY hand writing in this book. Part of the last name is worn off, and I also covered it just for these photos. The pages are in excellent shape with no marks, writing, tears, odor and no foxing( the yellowing that accumulates on old vintage paper) The edges of all 287 pages is gold colored. A few illustrations are in color, but most are in black and white. The only*FLAW* with this small prayer book is that the Celluloid Cover has cracks and peeling on the front and back of the outside binding. I noticed on other eBay listings that this is also an issue. It is apparently an issue with these types of covers that are older( This one is 59 years old based on when it was presented to me. Look closely at Photo's#1, 2, 4, and#5 for this flaw. The inside binding is perfect as are the pages. Please look at all other photos of the inside of this book. It is complete with all Instructions, Prayers and information for a child learning about God. This would be a nice collectible item. Or could be given to a child in preparation of their First Communion. As with all of my items. It comes from a smoke free home. All items that I sell are inspected to verify their condition. I do not use stock photos because I want you to see actual photos of what you are bidding on and will receive. I pack all items very well so that you receive them undamaged. The boy has his prayer book and a ribbon or scarf around his arm, and is carrying a large candle. The girl is wearing gloves, carrying her prayer book and candle, and has the MOST wonderful added veil and pleated skirt. The veil and skirt are made from a thin, translucent paper that is so fine that it is almost fabric. The pair are really gorgeous, and would be stunning framed. They show their age from the back - the paper is thick and embossed, with terrific color lithography. The backs have darkened a bit with age. The candles are complete, with a few creases and bends.

Child's 1956 Prayer Book/Missal Remembrance of My First Holy Communion Catholic
This item is a Lovely. Small, Vintage, Child's Catholic Prayer Book or Missal. Although it was made in Belgium and published in 1954 by The Regina Press in New York, it was presented to me on June 17, 1956. Inside it is listed as"Remembrance of My First Holy Communion" This 3" X 4 1/4" X 3/4 inch book has a celluloid covered front and back cover. On the inside cover is a gold toned thin medal crucifix which is in perfect shape. There is also a page that lists, in neat writing, my name, address, Church, date and officiating Pastor of my First Communion which is filled out in ink. This is the ONLY hand writing in this book. Part of the last name is worn off, and I also covered it just for these photos. The pages are in excellent shape with no marks, writing, tears, odor and no foxing( the yellowing that accumulates on ... moreold vintage paper) The edges of all 287 pages is gold colored. A few illustrations are in color, but most are in black and white. The only*FLAW* with this small prayer book is that the Celluloid Cover has cracks and peeling on the front and back of the outside binding. I noticed on other eBay listings that this is also an issue. It is apparently an issue with these types of covers that are older( This one is 59 years old based on when it was presented to me. Look closely at Photo's#1, 2, 4, and#5 for this flaw. The inside binding is perfect as are the pages. Please look at all other photos of the inside of this book. It is complete with all Instructions, Prayers and information for a child learning about God. This would be a nice collectible item. Or could be given to a child in preparation of their First Communion. As with all of my items. It comes from a smoke free home. All items that I sell are inspected to verify their condition. I do not use stock photos because I want you to see actual photos of what you are bidding on and will receive. I pack all items very well so that you receive them undamaged. A precious child's first communion book. W/ purse-case, rosary and box. Book has the date 1962 in it. Measuring 4 inches high, it has gold-edged pages and a celluloid cover. There is some tape on the spine and I'm not sure the condition under. The book fits inside the little purse. It is really a sweet set. Please see photos to see condition of all items.
