Antique Vintage 1915 First Holy Communion Candle religious Catholic Church
An antique first holy communion candle. A handwritten note was with it stating that it is from June. 1915. It was used but there are no drips down the sides and no large chips. It has been cracked/ broken 2 1/4" from the top and the top part would hang loose but is still attached with the wick. That part could be cut off and the candle could still then be displayed in a candle holder. The design appears to be in very good condition. Approximately 17 3/4" long. Please view all 10 pictures.

Large Brass Paschal Easter Candle Follower Church Altar 1 7/8" Catholic Mass
This is a single. Antique, old style, brass candle follower from a small rural Catholic Church. It is not in pristine condition(see pictures) It is"size 4" in the traditional numbering system. It would probably fit and work best on an Easter/Paschal candle that is 1 7/8" but I think it would also work just fine on a 1 3/4" and possibly even 1 15/16" candle. It is definitely too small for use on a 2" candle however. The bottom opening of the follower measures about 2.02" with the outside diameter at the bottom being about 2.5" and it stands about 2.4" high. The top opening is about 1.3" I would like to sell this to another church or religious institution.

3 Glass Pyrex Candle Followers Church Altar 1 1/8" Catholic Mass Liturgy Antique
This is a set of 3 older Pyrex glass candle followers. They are not in pristine condition. But there is no noticeable damage to them other than a little dirt/soot/wax residue. They are sized to fit a 1 1/8" candle. The bottom opening of the followers measures about 1.25" and the height of the followers is exactly 2" I've looked. But I can't find anywhere that they sell these new anymore. The closest thing I can find would be probably $30-35 each for this size. I will begin bidding on these at less than 1/2 the cost of this estimate for new, with free shipping to boot. I would like to sell these to a Christian church or religious institution.

Maybe this is what you are looking for! Tube is 2 3/4" tall and 1 1/8" diameter. It is brass. Threaded screw hole in bottom is about 7-8mm diameter. It shows wear. And some scratches(where someone tried to clean off wax with a sharp knife) and may have a few small'rusty' color stains typical of old brass. Bottom has some scratches. But still has a good shine. This item was among others discarded from a church long ago and has been in storage- uncleaned- for ... moreyears and years- dirty. Tarnished, with old wax that had turned green with tarnish. I have given it a basic cleaning with Wrights Copper Cream(which works great on brass) but there may still be a thin greenish wax residue in the tube. Pair Antique Brass Church Altar Candle Sticks Cherubs Angels
This is a great-looking pair of antique brass church altar candlesticks with cherubs/angels on them. I'm not certain how old they are. But I would estimate they date circa 1900. Each measures 23 1/2 inches tall(60 cm) They are 8 1/2 inches wide across the feet(21.6 cm) I think these are really special because they each have three cherubs going around them. The cherubs appear to be silverplate over brass. The feet are each an animal paw with a ball beneath it. They are beautifully designed. As you can see in the photos. They are each covered in tarnish. I'm not sure if this can be cleaned or if you'd even want to. The candle holders on top are each bent a little and one has a small break in it. The screws on the bottom insides of each are rusted in place. The individual pieces of the candlesticks can be turned around because of ... morethis. You can basically shape it as you like. I've tried but I cannot tighten them up. But they still hold up well. They are each a little crooked, probably because they cannot be fully tightened up. Even given these issues. This auction is for a pair or set of two 19 3/8" tall Baroque styled Altar candlesticks from a Catholic Church. I think these are what they call the"Holy Family" set. Because they have facial images on all three sides of the base, of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. There is a little damage on the base of the shaft of one of them. The finish on them is pretty decent for an older pair like this- it looks like somebody must have polished them at some point. Please note that they are also without the sockets at the top- you will have to provide those yourself and I don't know what size of socket these originally had(or if they are old enough that they had the prong at the top?

There is one chip on the edge lip of the red glass insert. The hanging frame that the insert goes into is made of a light weight metal with a nice gold finish on it. Two (2) 26" Tall Brass Church Candle Holders w/Sudbury Adaptors Candlesticks
Sorry. But no foreign sales on these items. These vintage candle holders are in very good used condition(I did find a small pin hole ding in one that I have emphasized in two of the pictures. There is a steel rod that runs the length of the candle sticks that holds the sections together. The rod is threaded and holds a steel plate in the bottom and the candle adapter(adaptor) on at the top. They need cleaned and polished as there are wax droppings in places about the items. The steel rod has caused a little rust to form on the bottom of one of the steel plates and on the top bowl of one. This should clean off well. The candle adapters screw on and off in case you want to use different size candles. The adapters that are on them are the only ones I have. They would take up to 2 1/4" adapters. They hold a 1 3/16" diameter candle. ... moreThese adapters are marked Sudbury Perfect-fit Adaptor on the bottoms. These are heavy items that weigh about 12 1/2 pounds each. These are very sturdy items with a base that has 4 claw type feet and is about 8 1/2" from tip to tip. New liturgical candlesticks of this height are selling from $ 850 to $1250 each. I doubt if you can even find new ones like these and of this quality at any price. I strive to ship as safely and as cheaply as possible and am willing to combine multiple purchases. Six 1" #1 Brass Church Altar Candle Follower Mass Catholic Root Dripless Bobeche
This auction is for a set of 6 heavy brass candle followers for a 1" candle. They were made by the Root Candle company and are described on their website as being"draft-proof" Meaning that they supposedly shouldn't drip or spill wax even when air is blowing across them. They are still made by this company and they sell for $49 EACH if you buy them new(these are really some Cadillac-type followers! Some of the things that are different about them are the following: 1. They have an odd interior plastic"lining" or"insulation" the new ones that Root Company sells still have these) I really don't know what that is for. Possibly to make them easier to clean because the wax won't stick to the plastic as much? Possibly to provide some heat insulation so that the brass doesn't get as hot? I don't ... moreknow- I've honestly never seen a set with this kind of thing on the inside before and I've seen a lot of candle followers. 2. They have an odd"lip" at the top. I am pretty certain that this is there to provide extra drip protection. Root company specifically was known for trying to develop followers that would avoid dripping down around the outside of the followers. So these are like followers with additional bobeches attached at the top to save your altar cloths if the candlesticks didn't have bobeches or something? This pair was made by the Sudbury Brass Goods Company and are Alter Ware#SB171. They are SOLID BRASS and weigh 2.5 pounds each. They measure about 7.75" tall and are 5-1/8" across the base. They are in good vintage condition. NO SCRATCHES OR REPAIRS. One drip tray has a 1/4" split in the top(see pic) and they do need to be cleaned and polished.
