Antique Pine Tool Chest/Trunk Smaller Size With a Great Restoration
For sale today is a very nicely restored medium size antique primitive chest/trunk and the restoration turned out very well. Based on 40 years experience restoring trunks I would date this tool chest to the late 1800's to early 1900's which makes this trunk a 100 plus years old- a true antique. This trunk/chest was structurally sound when the restoration started and the wood bottom is in good solid condition. Has had multiple coats of clear applied. The trunk has the two original hinges which are heavy duty, tight and work well. The interior has been removed. Two metal handles were installed on the tool chest. The lid closes well. Iowa, about 1840, this rugged store furniture has classical scrolls and curved moldings, square nailheads are visible. The honey golden finish is in very good condition with glowing warm patina. Preserving losses, stains, shrinkage separations and dings for antique character. Inside is rough and unfinished. It could be fitted with shelves if desired. It measures 10-1/2" long x 4-3/4" wide x 6-1/4" tall. It features small dimensions noted above. Boot jack cut-out legs that are attached to the top with heavily oxidized nails, and double 2" deep aprons. This old stool shows wear in all the right places including missing slivers of wood and tight surface separations. But remains in very good structural condition. Mellow in tone, this washstand or dressing table features a base with two drawers and two doors, opening to a generous sized cupboard for storage. The marble surface of the washstand is quite unusual and reflects the quality if the piece. It has a fitted marble top, rather than a separate piece, in a creamy white marble with soft grey vein lines. The dressing table is finished with a raised shaped bevelled mirror, with carved timber supports and elegant carving to the top. The piece presents with a well polished natural patina, without artificial shine. This wonderfully versatile antique piece measures approximately 101.5cm wide. 50.5cm deep and stands approximately 166cm high. The marble surface is 85.5cm high. Early pine shelf is painted greenish-black and measures 39.5" long. Two beautifully carved"Merlions" decorate the face. There are three old mounting holes spread across the back. Antique Primitive Pine Handcrafted Farm Kitchen Dry Sink / Circa 1800's
Beautiful antique small country primitive pine dry sink probably made circa 1860-1890 in very nice condition. It is made of solid pine boards(even on the back panel) and assembled with. I believe, hand made rectangular headed nails on the lower cabinet part. In the era before indoor plumbing these were used to place wash tins inside of the top for doing dishes and hand washing etc. It is very solidly built and heavy for its size with normal wear and staining for a piece this age. It has a nice vintage look to it and has that wonderful feel of"really old pine" and a great patina. Works great for mini bar or kitchen storage, etc. It measures 40" wide, 18.5" deep, and stands about 30" high. Free local pickup in the Denver, CO metro area. I am not really sure of the age but it came from a home on the bay in Annapolis. Maryland. My father had purchased a home on the Bay from an estate sale and the piece was in the basement. In searching the various images on the images it seems to be from the late 1800's or early 1900's.The home dated from the 1800's. It seems that the back has been replaced at some point. My wife and I have enjoyed having this in many of our various homes but we cant seem to make it work in this one. I think that it is Pine construction. Wonderful Antique Pine Shelf w/ Drawer, Towel Rack
This is a fabulous antique pine shelf. it is very old. The shelf measures 19" X 7 3/4" and is 7 3/4" deep. It has a beautiful finish on the wood showing some signs of old dark green paint which are very subtle. There is a little drawer under the shelf with a pretty brass pull on it. There is also a towel bar. There are 3 places where the wood is cracked but it is very stable. This has so much charm and character!
