Antique (19th C?) Wall Mirror w/Intricate Hand-Carved Artisan Figural Wood Frame
My grandparents bought this mirror& frame while antiquing in the Northeast US in the 1940's or 1950's. I would estimate that it's 19th Century. And I recall some talk of it being from a hotel or tavern that was closing down. Carved animal figures at top give an almost rustic look to it. But it has a kind of elegance(the carved'twist' side border and floral center at the top) that make it hard to pin down stylistically. Seems to be one-of-a-kind. As I see nothing like it at all in any Ebay listing, current or completed. Measures 43" high by about 25"at widest point. Dark wood could possibly be a stained cherry. But I'm not sure. The 15" X 27 1/2" beveled-edge mirror itself shows some age. And has a couple of spots that suggest it could me re-silvered or replaced, but there's no damage of ... moreany kind to the frame. Exquisite Antique Figural Woman Hand Mirror~Portrait on Glass~Fine Detail~
This is just a stunningly beautiful antique hand mirror found at an estate sale. The metal looks to be brass. But not sure, and is heavily engraved on the handle, and even the edge of the mirror. I'm not sure what to call the woman's portrait. The black part is all glass, and it is completely smooth where her figure is, so I do not know the correct term for how the image is displayed. The total length of the mirror is 12 3/4" The widest part of the mirror is 4" The front of the mirror is beveled, and has some little scratches and some silvering to the mirror. The side with the woman has some little scratches. There is one tiny part to the left of her that almost looks like a tiny silvering also? The metal has some tarnish/oxidization to it. Antique Victorian Bradley and Hubbard Figural Vanity Mirror
Nonna's Keepsakes is proud to present this lovely Victorian antique vanity mirror from the mid to late 1800's. This Bradly and Hubbard creation depicts an angelic design with two kissing cherubs at the top of the cast iron mirror. A male angel on the left side and a female angel on the right side. Floral designs are used in a flowing cascade from the cherubs to the adult angels on both sides of the mirror. There is a gold gilt wash over the cast iron which is visible throughout this mirror's design with some of the gold visible in the photos. This item is numbered 744 on the back of the frame, at the top on a cherub's wing, with possibly a fourth number which is not legible. This item stands 11 inches in height, 10 3/4 inches in width and has beveling around the mirror approximately 1/2 inch wide. The mirror has a very small ... morebubbled spot below the frame between the 6 and 7 o'clock position. If you tip the frame just right, it will be visible, but not large enough to capture on film. This is a manufacturing defect, not a chip. The mirror has a very slight hazing which we attempted to show in the photos. The back of the mirror has a full swivel stand and the original screws and pins. The color of the item is shown most accurately on the cherubs and angels. We found no cracks, chips, repairs or replacement parts on this item. We consider this item to be in excellent used conditon. This stunning beveled edge mirror is of polished brass with beautiful floral scrollwork trim. Topped with a figural Bacchus. It can be used as a table/dresser or wall mirror. A very nice antique. Circa 1890's, Sitzendorf German porcelain wall mirror frame in the manner of Meissen. Frame in Rococo acanthus leaf style, applied figural cherub, many small various flowers and leaves, all nicely hand enamel painted and gilt accented. The beveled mirror is original, with wood back board and brass loop to hang. Mirror frame measures 17" tall by 11-1/2" wide, the three arms with bobeches and sockets are 4-1/2" deep by 3-1/2" tall. The mirror measures 7" by 10" Very good condition: a chip to petal or leaf here or there. Repair to frame on right end, glue gun strengthening parts back together. Losses to leaf bobeches.

IT IS FROM THE VICTORIAN PERIOD BUT HAS A DEFINITE MEDIEVAL THEME. THE MIRROR WEIGHS ALMOST 6 POUNDS. IT IS 19" TALL AND 11" WIDE AT THE WIDEST POINT. THE BOTTOM BASE IS 9 AND 1/2" WIDE AND 4" DEEP. THE MIRROR PART IS 8" BY 6 AND 3/4" NOT COUNTING THE FRAME AROUND IT. IT IS HIGHLY ORNATE WITH AN INTRICATE MAIDEN AT THE TOP. Extraordinary Large Antique Cast Iron Figural Vanity Shaving Mirror Crown Swords Knight Armor Ornate#651. SPECTACULAR. Antique, EXTEME RARE ORIGINAL. Cast iron vanity or shaving mirror. Dates likely to the late 1800's(1880-1899) and is in excellent condition! It is from the Victorian period. But has a definite Medieval theme. This extraordinary item weighs a full 15 pounds! It's 20 1/2" tall and 12 1/2" wide at widest. The bottom base is 12" long x 5" deep. Mirror glass alone is 9 1/2" x 6 1/2" not counting the riveted frame around it! Very substantial. Details: First of all. It's gorgeous! Highly ornate with an intricate Crown at the top, 2 knights-in-armor, swords, shields, flags, tools(looks like hatchet and others) draped banners and what looks to be boughs of holly throughout. Original paint ... moreLooks like bronze. It's mostly brown/black with dulled gold- just see pics for description of color. It's hard for me to get this in words. Mirror has a frame around it that looks riveted. But it's just the casting. With that frame, mirror part is 10 1/2" x 6 1/2" Mirror is just about flawless on the front. And is original. It swivels nicely and stays put straight up and down. It does have tiny holes at each end where it once had some type of peg or nail or tack that you could use to prop it against the outer frame so it wouldn't move. But those are gone. Condition notes: ORIGINAL and UNRESTORED. This is in excellent, usable condition and excellent visual condition, save for some rust on the underside of the base, and on back side of base, doesn't detract. Antique 1800's decorative Bacchus design mirror? Unsigned Bradley& Hubbard to start a new paragraph use- This auction is for a wonderful antique 1800's Victorian era Baccus design decorative mirror. I believe this is an unsigned Bradley& Hubbard. The stand is no longer. But it does have a center ring for wall hanging. This very ornate beveled glass mirror stands 15 inches tall and measures 10 inches wide. Wonderful old patina. I believe it is brass. Brass back plate is attached with screws. A very nice antique. Circa 1890's, ormolu brass Art Nouveau wall shaving mirror with beveled glass. There are two figural cherubs attached. It measures 9-1/2" tall by 10-1/4" wide. The mirror measures 5" by 6-3/4" Very good plus condition: brass without dents or breaks, original ormolu finish with some verdigris spots on left cherub. The glass is fine, backing cloudiness spots.

This is an extremely high quality antique 19th century solid bronze Victorian figural table mirror. it is extremely ornate with an abundance of intricate detailing. Very dimensional, and done in high relief. It ranks up there with Tiffany quality. it is beautifully footed with two outward facing griffin/dragons. they are very dimensional and extremely detailed with a great textured finish. the top part of the frame has a 3 dimensional face surrounded by an architectural piece and a stylized center piece filled with fruit. there rest of the frame has very ornate cut out detailing with nice texture and a beautiful patina from age. there is an equally as ornate bronze arm in the back that pivots back and forth on a hinge on the top and sits the mirror upward. the mirror in the center of the bronze frame has a nice beveled edge and is in good ... moreshape. it has a small crop in the rear side of the mirror. It is made from thick/ solid brass and is very heavy with nice cut crystal prisms hanging from the drip plates. it is a very nice quality piece doubling as a mirror and has two arms in the front which hold two candles as well. the piece is extremely ornate and has great cut out detailing with two outward facing dolphins at the top. the candle holders. Arms, and drip plates have great detailing also. the mirror has a beveled edge and has nice ware to it. Really Nice looking Female figural Art Nouveau Tilt Shaving Mirror with beveled glass. Photos show more of the back of the mirror due to the difficulty in photographing mirrors. The glass has some freckling and spots where the silvering on the back is going away. The body of this mirror and stand is mostly iron that has been plated with something. Magnets stick but not well. Maybe a bronze overlay. The metal has age related patina and discoloration. Some rust in places. This mirror stands about 15-1/2" tall. The base is 4-1/2" wide and the glass part of the mirror(showing) is 7-5/16" x 5-5/16" The widest part of the mirror(where the swivel is) measures about 7-5/8" No brand markings anyplace on this mirror.
