Antique Federal Brass/Bronze Mirror
This is an outstanding brass/bronze federal period mirror in original(as found) condition. The mirror has many interesting parts. At the top is an American Eagle perched on an oval(1.5" by 2" containing what appear to be the remnants of a heraldic crest. Under the crest is a larger oval 8.5” by 6.75" mirror also in original untouched condition. At the bottom of the mirror is a thirteen star shield representing the 13 original colonies. The back of the shield reads“Design Patented Nov. 25 1862” In total. The mirror measures 19" by 11.5” and weighs about 7.5 pounds. Please look closely at the photos as they tell the story, but if you have any questions feel free to e-mail me. It would be very simple to polish this mirror with Brasso and have it looking shiny and new, but many people value the old patina so I have changed ... morenothing. This mirror has no breaks, flaws, repairs, replacements or damage of any kind. It has a beautifully aged surface. Nice Federal Style Eagle Topped Convex Mirror with 13 Balls representing the original 13 Colonies Made during WWII Era This is a great piece of history. I thought about restoring it and I still might if it does not sell in the next month or so. I just have too many other projects going right now. Back of the glass is dated 1941 as seen in the pictures. Mirro r measures approx. 29" Tall and 22" Wide Antique Convex Glass is in nice shape. I checked it over and did not find any cracks or chips in it. As you can see. The mirrored silvering is starting to wear. I think it adds character and helps show the mirror's age, but you could have it re-silvered to like new condition if that is what you are looking for. The exterior wood rim is in really good shape. The wreath at the bottom of the mirror has 1 small chip of plaster as seen in the pictures. There is paint wear on the 13 balls surrounding the mirror. I think that this mirror is unique in that it is not the bright gold finish. It is more of a"copper" or"dull gold" finish. One could refinish it into the bright gold that you see if that is to your liking. It is the"plasterized frame" which means that a small coat of plaster was spread over the wood frame prior to painting Other than that. Please take a good look at the pictures and determine if this mirror is right for you. I have seen these mirrors sell for $250 up to $1.500. Just depends on finding the right buyer at the right time. We are pleased to offer to the market this beautiful antique mirror. This is a Federal style wall mount mirror. It measures in 35 3/8" in height x 18 1/8" width at the widest point x 2 7/8" depth. The mirror is topped with a reverse painted scene of an Asian woman. The details on the painting are absolutely stunning. The mirror and painted scene are flanked by carved and turned columns. Only a later heavy paper board between the mirror/painting and the beveled wood back has been replaced for protection of the back side of both the mirror and the painting. Antique hand carved Federal Eagle Convex round mirror in hand carved gilded wood. The mirror looks very old and we believe it to date from the late 1800's. We took lots of pictures so that the people interested can appreciate the way it is made and be able to estimate its age. The frame is all hand carved wood with a gold gilt surface. The convex glass is in excellent condition with very mild interior discoloration from age that hardly shows. The overall measurements are 32" high X 22" wide. The mirror only is 17 1/2" in diameter. As one can see clearly from all our pictures. The condition in general is very good, except for a small part of the eagle's head missing. Unfortunately this is how the mirror was found. This mirror. With reverse painting, was made in the 1860's thru 1870's it is from an estate in upstate NY. where it has resided for all of it's life, generations! This piece has had the back replaced with pine boards, as originally it probably would have been paper. The mirror I believe is original but I can't be absolute on that! Antique 19th Century Federal Rope Twist Mirror Frame Rare Classical Empire AAFA
Hi. I'm offering this rare Federal mirror, possibly made in Boston. The mirror dates from the early 19th century, circa 1800-1825. The design is bold and unusual with 4 girandole-type balls. One in each corner. The mirror has a hefty rope twist placed in a deep cove with 4 small acanthus leaves in each corner. The condition of the gilding is very pleasing. The original surface is evenly worn yet the mirror retains its splendor. Much of the burnished water gilding is still present. The mirror glass is a later 19th century replacement. There is some silver loss at the bottom of the plate. The back board appears to be original. Vintage Antique Gold Gilt Cast Iron Federal Eagle Mirror by Iron Art Co.
This is a fantastic gold gilt cast iron mirror with an eagle perched on top and elegant scrolls around the sides and bottom. The metal is excellent. And the gold finish is still shimmery, not dull but probably a little darkened from age, and 100% intact with little wear. The mirror is held in place by three clasps that screw into the frame and blue pieces of felt are positioned under the clasps to protect the mirror. There is a small chip missing from the top edge of the mirror, but it is not visible from the front if the mirror is properly positioned. There is also one tiny scratch in the silver backing on the mirror, but it is hardly noticeable. There is a hanger screwed onto the back for wall hanging. The frame is marked Iron Art Co. Outer measurements are 10 1/2" W x 17" H, and the glass measures 4 1/4" x 10 1/4"

New England Antique Federal Mirror circa 1812 - 1822 Boston Mahogany Old Eagle
A better than average Federal period Mahogany wall mirror with original American Eagle cast in bronze. Retains original gold guilt- not painted- finish. These mirrors were made in the Boston area and were hung prominently in the better homes of their day. Original finish, old repair to the wood. Mirror glass was replaced in the 1930's or 40's. 40" high x 20" wide. Retains original backing boards- one being 16" across the grain. I estimate the age at 1812- 1822 due to the quality and form of the eagle compared with earlier examples. Compare with similar mirrors offered at much higher prices- and they have broken eagles or lesser quality eagles. This was purchased and is currently in New Hampshire. 60 miles from Boston. Overall a very wonderful piece. I love it! I got a good deal- so you get a good deal.

Antique Victorian Convex Gold Gilt Wood Gesso Federal Eagle Framed Wall Mirror
This is a fantastic antique Federal Eagle crested convex wall mirror with 13 balls around the frame signifying the 13 colonies. It is an original antique piece from around the turn of the century. The frame and glass are in excellent condition. Nothing is missing, or broken, the gesso is 100% complete, the crest and decorative piece on the bottom are tightly intact and not loose or cracked, and the mirror doesn't have any missing silver or age spots. The frame might have been re-painted at one time, but if it was, it was long ago and not obvious. Some of the 13 balls have recently been touched up where the paint was chipped(shown in the close-up of the ball) but the touchup paint matches nicely. 30 3/4" tall. 22 1/2" wide, eagle has a 12 1/4" wing span, exposed part of the mirror is 17 1/4" with it fitting in an 18 1/2" hole in the back. It probably originally had a convex bulls eye mirror in it. 13 balls around the perimeter representing the 13 colonies. Some minor age cracking but overall a very nice example with excellent quality carving to the wood. Probably some gesso around it too. They tell me it is"Of the Period" And that it is a Federal Mirror that was taken off of a Northwestern Massachusetts Federal Period house's wall. I would say it is, looking at the form, construction, and dark color on the reverse side, a period ... moreFederal mirror, ca.1820-30. Its design matches other mirrors I found in my research. That being said, please make sure you study the pictures to judge this for yourself. Note the medallions on top are leaf-like and the ones on the bottom are sunbursts with faces in the middle. Overall size: 24-1/4" wide x 37-1/4" high x 4" deep overall The gold gilt finish is crackled and has some small chips to it in most places. Aside from that. There is some loss to the gesso molding on the lower left as shown. The mirrors are older, but I think are newer than the frame. They have some minor silvering loss, mostly to the lower mirror, so I would guess perhaps 80-100 years old, give or take. Looking at the back, the old age is obvious, given the very dark color. I can see layers of evidence that this mirror was worked on over the years, including some newer nails used to keep the back boards in place. The oldest nails are very old. The panels are loose in the frame somewhat, in that they want to slide down. I think this is due to a missing bottom board on the frame(obvious in the pictures) I could add a board or simply add fasteners to secure it, but I really think I should le
