He is known for his miniature world atlas'Tabularum geographicarum contractarum' Although not an actual mapmaker himself. Bertius's text was embellished with maps from the foremost engravers of the late 1500's and early 1600's, including Pieter Van den Keere and Jocodus Hondius. An attractive map on heavy paper. Published in the International Atlas and Geography. A nice feature of this atlas is that the maps were individually bound along their long edge. Resulting in large maps without a centrefold. This map measures approx 30cm x 40cm excluding margins. Condition is very good. A strong impression that remains clean and bright with attractive printed colour. One or two specks and marks but very minor. The margins are lightly toned and the left margin is creased and a bit raggedy where originally bound. Verso completely blank and clean; a few foxing spots.
