This is a truly lovely eyecatching oil lamp. The Hinks' Duplex system 2 functions perfectly. When I bought it was set up with the wick but I have never used it. The chimney is a replacement it has Griffin brand and marked foreign on it. The lampshade I am told was original but I dont know its certainly from the right era. I bought this about 15 years from an Antique Shop. I have loved it dearly but I am downsizing and changing styles so there is now no place for it. This item will go by courier or can be collected. Antique Victorian Duplex Brass Double Student Oil Lamp Electric Original Globes
Hi. You are bidding on the most beautiful lamp. It is a Duplex student oil lamp that was converted to electric. You can see by the cord and plug that it is one of the oldest electric lamps you will ever see. It has been tested and did work when I bought it but the cord is super old. I would get a second opinion before you use the cord. The globes are LOVELY and even more beautiful in person. They are in good condition with no nicks or cracks. The globes measure approximately ten inches across at the bottom and 4.5 inches or so on the top. The entire lamp is 27 inches when measured from base to top of chimneys. I believe the chimneys are also original in that they look like old glass and they are the exact measurements of the original chimneys. One of the chimneys has some roughness around the base where it goes into the metal but it is not ... morechipped. If you collect these antique lamps. I think you are going to love this one. There are problems, but minimal. I see that there is one lamp socket that is sort of tipped to one side. There is some difficulty getting the round base for the chimney into the larger frame for the glass globe. But I think that all of these issues are probably just a part of owning a lamp like this. As you can see from the photos it has a lovely Bright Yellow/Lemon colour and is beautifully acid etched with flowers and foliage within panels which looks amazing when held to natural light(See Photo) It measures 7"inches high and 8.5"across the top. Antique Victorian Glass Brass Oil Lamp Duplex Burner Vaseline Opalescent
A good heavy Victorian Oil Lamp. The lamp is complete. In working order and has been lightly cleaned to show its beauty but to preserve the antique element. It stands 13” 33cm tall. It is all original. There is no damage. Only the odd minor insignificant ding and split in the brass as would be expected of a genuine antique piece and commensurate with age. The stem is brass. The brass burner is marked English Made Duplex. The glass part is opalescent/ Vaseline glass and very decorative. All round it’s probably as good as it gets. Ready to use if you wish.

The lamp is of the style often called a sideboard lamp. Usually squat lamps with a low centre of gravity, likely the height of the sideboard negates the need for a column. Lamp is unmarked apart from a model number on one of the feet(see image) I have seen this model before several times and they were both stamped with the'Taylor, Tunnicliffe& Cº' lozenge. Dimensions; lamp stands 17" tall to the top of the chimney and is around 7" across the base. Condition; good condition for age(c1880-1890) Some crazing but luckily mostly out of sight(underside of bowl near feet and inside the bowl, mostly never seen areas) burner could do with a clean but appears to be in working order, one retaining nut on the leg of the burner missing, surprised one remains as they are usually both gone) absolutely no restoration! This auction features a Victorian Etched Cranberry Glass Tulip Duplex Oil Lamp Shade 4" Fitter. The pattern is Ribbons and Bows and Flowers at the top and 4 big Flowers at the bottom. With other patterns woven through out. I tried to take as many pics as possible to show the pattern. It is in good antique condition, no chips or cracks, all I see is some bubbles inside the glass and I am told that that is normal. The measurements are 6 3/4" tall and the top measurement is roughly 7 1/2" and of course the base is 4" It is really a beautiful Shade!

This lamp is complete with all the original pieces It has been converted from oil to electric by the previous owner The brass is in very good condition The glass has some small chips on the edges. But isn't noticeable when it's all put together I'm not sure if it's paint on the shade or print. I do know that the highlights on the flowers are white paint. So this may have been the painting process used in the past Small scuffs on the glass. But I will not touch it to clean it up The brass and glass need a little TLC I have not cleaned anything on this lamp Original patina on it It comes with 42 hanging glass crystals(A couple have very small chips barely noticeable) This is an old lamp that is hard to find. It is 12" tall as pictured and the lead crystal font has a substantial 7" diameter intended for a duplex burner(present but incomplete- I hope I pictured that clearly) One Wick Winder is marked"Best English Make" the other"F. S. Co Ltd Duplex" meaning it was made by Falk Stadelmann& Co who eventually became the biggest lampmaker in Britain. well worth glancing at. Victorian Hink's Plated Bayonet Clip Burner. Up for auction here is this rare Victorian Plated Hink's Duplex Patent bayonet clip Rise& Fall Burner Circa 1890. As you can see from the photos it is Plated which has very little wear. It could do with a polish to brighten it up. Both wick winder run smooth as does the snuffers, it still has its original Wick& cork seal and both clips that hold the burner on the collar are good and strong, their is no damage to the chimney teeth and the wick bridge is fine. The Black ceramic button is stamped HINK'S DUPLEX PATENT the wick bridge is also stamped but it is tarnished from use and difficult to read! The fount is made from cased cranberry over opal glass and is moulded with four slightly-bulged panels featuring hand-painted sprays of flowers. The fount is deep cranberry on the top and this fades to light pink at the base. Dimensions; 6 1/2" wide and around 6" tall from base of undermount to top of collar.
