Offered is this vintage or antique stoneware bottle with dark reddish-brown glazing. The bottle stands just under 12" high and is approx. 3 1/2" in diameter at the bottom. It has a very interesting incised circular mark containing what looks like Cyrillic or Greek lettering that I have not been able to identify(see next to last photo) The bottle is in very good condition. With no cracks and only one small old chip near the lip. There are numerous small spatters of what looks like cream-colored paint that may be removable but I have not tried. Vintage Antique Pottery 2-tone brown Crock Moonshine Cider Jug stoneware
From my grandmothers home back in the late 1950's is this ceramic stoneware cider. Moonshine jug. I remember this from way back when I was a kid. My grandmother passed in the late 70's and my mother kept it. It then went to my brother and he's had it till now. He's 63 years old so this little rascal is an oldie! It's always been in the house and shows little signs of wear or use. It's a very nice piece.

SCARCE 5 GALLON BROWN & WHITE CANNING CROCK JUG STONEWARE VINTAGE OLD ANTIQUE
This is a nice stoneware crock that was evidently used for canning. It is 15 inches tall. And 12 inches in diameter. It holds 5 gallons. It does show a crack on the bottom, but it doesn't leak. The top opening is almost 3-1/2 inches across. This type is very rare and hard to find. Other 5 gallon jugs have small top openings like a whiskey bottle or are completely open and shaped like a can. Most recently. This was full of straw, and held artificial flowers, but it would make a GREAT cookie jar! Please look at all of the pictures. Offered is this vintage or antique glazed stoneware whiskey jug. The jug sits about 9 1/4" high and is approx. 5 1/2" in diameter across the bottom. I have measured its capacity and it will hold 2 1/2 quarts. Near the top is a stamped-in mark of"A9" but I have not been able to find out what it means(see last photo) The jug is in very good condition. With no chips or cracks. The reddish-brown glazing on the top has been unevenly applied, there are bumps and blotches in the tan glazing, etc. Please take a moment to look at the other items in my eBay store!

Vintage ANTIQUE Brown GLAZE STONEWARE CROCK WHISKEY MOONSHINE JUG HEAVY OLD
You are bidding on an Earlier Period Art Nouveau Unsigned Antique Brown and Cream Colored Glazed Crock Moonshine Jug. This particular piece has very minor crazing and is in Excellent Condition. Jug was handmade. And is slightly smaller than most of the other jugs i have found online that are similar. Age was determined through the exceptionally old cork that is found inside the jug and unfortunately can't be removed or photographed without risking any potential damage to the mouth of the jug. It is assumed this was made in the USA however no stamps or marking have been found. There is an indentation in the jug as you can see in the photos that adds some character, as it was a flaw that was created during the crafting of the item. The creator obviously didn't think it was any problem and just added the glazing over it. From the interior ... morethere is no damage, so the functionality of the item isn't affected by the indent, I'm guessing that was how the creator thought when he finished this product. No one alive knows the exact age of this piece but it came with many other pieces that was from the 1830's-1850's. I will be listing a few of these items at a later date.
