Beautiful stoneware jug with original cork. The bottom is a rich dark brown with a creamy top. I love the shape of the handle with it's swirl effect. There are no makers marks that I can see so I have no idea who the craftsman was. It does show pride of craftsmanship. It measures 8 inches tall and 4 inches wide at the widest point. This is from my uncles estate items. Great old crock I am selling just as it is as I am not sure if the the old strap was how it was carried or not. We are originally from West Virginia so imagine from the stories I have been told that this crock carried its share of moonshine LOL. Large Vintage Glazed Ceramic Jug Unearthed w/Original Cork- Very Good Condition This wonderful old jug was recently unearthed from an old barn. It was several feet under the soil and no one knows how long it was buried. It was a miracle it was ever found. The glaze is a very dark brown or black and cleaned up beautifully! Amazingly there are no chips or cracks on the jug. There is one very small spot near the top where the glaze is chipped. It shows in the photos. It is about 12" tall with a girth of about 30" so it is a good size jug. It was probably used for whiskey back in the day. There are no markings on the bottom so I have no idea how old this old jug is. It weights in at about 11 pounds without packing so there is heft to it and postage will reflect it. This is a nice Vintage Racoon Mountain Stoneware Crock Jug that helf Sorghum Syrup. It is a 1 Quart size and stands about 6 1/2" tall and is about 4 1/4" in diameter. There are no chips. Cracks or fleabites. It does have a glaze pop on the side below the handle. The"pop" is about 3/16th" long and 1/8" wide. The jug is marked on the bottom"USA" so I am not sure of the maker. It is approximately 10" tall and 5 1/4" across the bottom. There are no chips. Cracks, or signs of repair. There are a few scuff marks on the bottom, the cork has a chip out of it, and on the brown stoneware there is tape residue and on the tape it apparently said 100. The crock whiskey jug measures about 10 1/4 inches tall and 6 inches wide. It is pretty good condition but does have a couple of surface chips in the dark brown area toward the tan colored band. There's also crazing on the bottom and sides of the jug mainly noted in the light colored areas. The jug also has some pin holes that are normally seen on these jugs. This is a heavy classic stoneware wine jug it is believed to be from around the 1920's since it was my girlfriends grandmothers she got when she was in her early 20's and she currently is 93. It weighs a lone 6.83 pounds and has a glazed finished as you can see. There are marks as I have shown and that helps with the description. The age marks has not effected the integrity of this item at all. I just want this item to go to a good home and with someone who might have more information on this and can appreciate it. 1850-1880'S "Beehive" Ovoid Salt Glaze Stoneware Jug With Orignal Cork
This is a 19th to very early 20th CENTURY OVOID SALT GLAZE STONEWARE JUG with COBALT MOTIF. VERY LARGE VINTAGE STONEWARE JUG. VERY UNUSUAL TO HAVE THE ORIGINAL CORK(wood stopper) The JUG is called a“BEEHIVE” style and the motif on the front of the jug is supposed to be a bee. It is Pennsylvania-New York Stoneware. 1850-1880, but it could be from several makers. the piece is hand painted. Stoneware like that is fired to a VERY high temperature(about 2300 degrees F) and about 1720, American potters began producing a form of stoneware developed in many Europe centuries earlier-stoneware glazed with salt and decorated with cobalt blue with a Beautiful Symbol painted in Blue. Salt glazed stoneware like this was very common in the 19th-Century America and potters produced it all over the country, sometimes stamping it with their maker’s marks- ... morebut most of the time, they did not put on an actual name-like this one. Maple Syrup - Moonshine Stoneware Jug with Cork
This jug was found in an old barn in Pennsylvania and is believed to have been used for Maple Syrup or possibly moonshine. With the spout I would say more likely syrup. The cork was in the jug when found. So I left it. There is some damage to the top as shown in the photos and a crack in the bottom of the handle at the bend. This is a large antique stoneware jug from Louisiana. I am not sure of the exact age. But I know it is very old. It measures 16" tall by 12-1/2" in diameter. The opening with the cork is 1-3/4" in diameter. The jug is empty and very heavy. It is a family piece from a friend and was originally used to hold moonshine. The jug is in very good condition. This auction is for a Vintage Whiskey or Moonshine Crock Jug. It is brown on top an lighter color on bottom. Has a handle and cork. I do not know if the cork is original to the bottle. I do not want to try to remove it for fear it will break or crack apart. Measures 11" tall not including cork. Some pits and seeds from when it was made. Has a small ding in side which I think is from when it was made because it is glazed over. Not exposed. Small hole in bottom but I don't think it goes through to inside, but I cant guarantee it without verifying it by taking out cork, which I don't dare do because it will crack. Some scratches and divots from when it was made. Çouple small chips on top and bottom of jug has some of the brown paint from top splattered on it when it was made. If the whole jug is filled it is 2 1/2 Gallons(it has a small corn cob in it that had been used where the cork is) It measures 14 1/2" Tall. 9 3/4" in Width. It weighs almost 10 lbs. empty. I don't know if this is what is considered saltware as there are no markings that I can find. It is in good condition. Very nice. No chips or cracks. No potters mark either. It does have one scuff line on it's side. photo 4) I don't know if this is an original flaw or not. Quality made stoneware with salt glaze. Cobalt blue design(grapes? on front. Handcrafted. Lipped rim for pouring. Cork stopper and the handle comes up from the rim before the cone. Jug stands 6" tall x 5" wide. Bottom is a 3" diameter. Top opening is 2 1/4" across with 1/2" lip. Holds 3 cups. Could be used for syrup. Cream, salad dressing.etc.

Vintage Brown Beehive 9.5" Stoneware Jug with Intact Handle & Cork
This is a vintage(or antique. Age unknown) beehive stoneware jug with an Albany Slip style glaze. The handle of the jug is still intact and it appears to have the original cork(see top view photo) or at least one with notable age to it. There are several larger chips on the lower portion of the jug(see side view photos) and other smaller chips as well. The jug measures 8" tall to the bottom of the handle and 8" across the bottom of the jug. It stands 9.5" to the top of the cork. We believe this to be a 1 gallon jug based on the dimensions. There are a couple of incised marks on the bottom but they do not appear to be lettering of any kind so the maker is unknown. My knowledge of this item is limited and I have described this piece to the best of my ability.
