Antique Vintage Primitive 2 Tone Salt Glaze Stoneware Jug/Lamp Hand Painted
This is a wonderful old brown top salt glazed whiskey jug measuring approximately 11 inches tall and a diameter of approximately 7 inches. The jug has no cracks but does have a few chips. 4 around the ledge of the jug, 2 of which are not that noticeable because they are located almost right on the ledge and blend in very well. The other two are just below the ledge(see picture 3) This jug also has a small hole drilled at the bottom of the back side for an electric cord(see picture 3) to be used as a lamp. The front side of the jug has an hand painted apple motif. Some of the paint has rubbed off but again does not in any way take away from the beauty of this jug and in fact would be expected for the age. The handle is perfect and the jug has had no repairs. There are some manufacturers defects(see picture 4) the most apparent which looks ... morelike a dent. I think it enhances the charm of this old jug. A beautiful jug for any collector or for decorative purposes.

English Lovatts Stoneware Jug Pewter Top Hand Painted 1895
Charming! This is in very fine condition. I can find no flaws of any kind. Made by Lovatt's Potteries. Ltd. Langley Mill, near Nottingham, England, 1895. Today they are known as Denby, a favorite fine English Pottery. The bottom part of the jug is grey texture with posies hand painted over it; then there is a row of cream-coloured beading. The top half is cobalt blue with more flowers in pink, white and green. The pewter top is in fine condition, hinges work well, there is just nothing wrong with this lovely piece. Very Rare Antique I think Red Wing Pottery Dome Top Hand Painted"Little Brown Jug" only it's not brown or Little. The Handle looks to be applied. It has no cracks. Or repairs. It does hae a few chips at the mouth of the jug. on the back base& bottom pictured. And, the paint on the flower is crackling and delicate(must be handled with care) also pictured. I think this jug is ca. 1890s- 1940s give or take, but I'm not 100% sure? The shoulder of the vessel is domed. The jug's 7 1/2" tall again I think it's a one gallon jug. Check out my other items! A great early jug with hand painted flowers. The jug is marked DILLWYN Swansea on the base and most likely dates from the early 1800s. The jug is decorated on each side and has a green handle. The body is an earthenware with a tin glaze that is similar to majolica. It is 6 1/2 inches high and 6 3/8 inches wide from spout to handle. It is in fine condition with crazing to the glaze. There are three or Four teeny tiny glaze flakes on the rim. Stone ware Jug Crock Hand Painted signed R. Phillips Dated 64 Folk Art Barn
This is one really cool old crock. With a great folk art scene painted on it. Signed R. Phillips Dated 64' We assume this means 1964. That's a 49 year old painting on a 120+ year old 2 gallon jug crock. 11" tall x 8" widest with a 3 1/4" opening. That's big enough for a large hand to fit into. At seven 7 pounds, its a nice large piece. The bottom of the crock says in pencil. Mrs. Maphine Loy Paint all around(Mrs. Bloomer as gift) Folks this is folk art at its best. Don't miss the good stuff. Take another look. The art is in really good shape with very minimal scratches. Smudges, dirt, rubs, the worst scratching is above the barn on the tree, and below the barn to the left. The scene is 360' There is is a barn. With a paddle wheel, a boat on a lake, and plenty of trees in a fall setting, and a beautiful sunset ... morethat really brings the whole scene together. Very peacefully and calming. Like a good memory would. The 2 gallon jug is in very good original condition. With tan color spots in the original brown glaze. The jug has minor chipping at the mouth of the jug, and a 1 1/2" x 1/2" chip from the base that has the artists paint on it, so its been there for years. The jug has a wire and wood handle. The wood is chipped. All of these are signs of, a great original piece. No lid or wire lid bale. We pictured the jug with a large 1 gallon jug so you can see that this is a larger than normal sized jug. This type of art was done for people who wanted to remember the farm life of their youth. With art work that brought back the best memories, on a old daily use item. We love this type of art, and you will get a lot of eye traffic on this piece. This painting is perfect for any setting. Rare Porcelain Whiskey Jug/Decanter Set Hand Painted T&V Limoges Here is a rare and beautiful decanter set. A jug in the"whiskey" style. Large tray and four very thin and light porcelain cups. The set is masterfully hand painted and signed by the artist"Graham" The artist has painted a rendition of currant clusters, making each cluster distinctive. Added also are wonderful variegated green and brown leaves among the currants. Subtle shadings of reds to greens create a pleasing and balanced background. These pieces are in extraordinary condition considering their age. The hallmarks date the set between 1890 and 1907. The jug's hallmark is by PH Leonard. A New York importer using this mark from 1890- 1908. The tray is T& V Limoge France. This is a wonderful piece of Pennsylvania Dutch Art History. This is a whiskey Stoneware Jug with a wooden handle and 2 ceramic holes for the bale. What makes it so special is that it has then hand painted by Paul"Papa" Horning circa 1964-1972. Paul Horning was native PA Dutch. Born in Nov 17, 1884 into a Mennonite family in Berks County. He rejected much of the faith and conservative style. Forced to leave school at the age of 10, he was self educated and actually taught school at the age of 25 for a few years. Blue slip band, polychrome hand-painted over glaze florals and fruits, brown slip edging, and a white slip glaze to the interior. England, possibly Staffordshire, ca 1800 This charming little jug is quite early. Dating to the late 18th to early 19th Century. The jug measures 3" high to the tip of the spout and has a circumference of 11" at the waist. The handle is applied and the mask spout has a man's face surrounded by a brown beard. The hand-painted floral band in purple and green against the blue slip band on the neck is particularly attractive. This jug was obviously commissioned by the Pettit‘s and is possibly unique. An elegant Antique jug decorated hand decorated with beautiful pink roses. Around the top. The base and the handle is a deep, rich green typical of this Art Deco period of decoration. Both the base and beneath the rim are raised medallions which have been decorated with smudged gold, but some of the gold has been worn off over the years. Gold has also been used for the gold leaves which are decorating both top and bottom of the white middle section of the jug. Again, there is a little loss of gold to parts of this decoration. The gold around the rim and lip of the jug is still in good condition. There is some staining on the inside of the jug. But it doesn`t really detract from the beauty of this lovely old decorative jug, other than that there are NO chips or cracks and it is in very good Antique condition. HAND PAINTED ART DECO CREAM JUG AND MATCHING PLATE
Art Deco hand painted Hexagonal jug and matching round plate unknown maker and date. This beautiful and very unusual little pair have been beautifully hand painted in the most glowing and gorgeous colors. Finished with a lovely 1.5cms border of blue lustre. The brilliant colors on both pieces absolutely glow and highlight the windmill set against a sunset sky with softly green trees behind. Dividing the border of blue lustre is a fine line of black paint separating the main picture from the border. The sweet little cream jug is Hexagonal in shape and is 8cms high from the edge of the spout to the base. With a top of 9 x 7cms. The plate is 22cms diameter. Both pieces are in perfect condition with no chips. Cracks or crazing. Lovely collectible pieces which would please any collector of unusual and lovely pieces of china. CA turn-of-the-last-century home. This gelatin silver photograph will be included with this sale. It confirms the age of this stunning set. This tall jug or planter measures 12" tall including its removable stopper in place. If you look inside the tall neck, you will see some wires below, probably used to insert flower stems or ivy roots. There is some white mottling in some places from water over the years. The dish measures 8" in diameter, again some signs of water& use on it. Dish has been dropped, one piece underneath the dish is missing, also has two small chips underneath as well.
