Up for consideration is a rare. Restored, antique wall trunk. It has a working lock& key. It has dated hinges that read"Dec 22 1891" It has been cleaned well inside and out. A new covering was put inside to resemble the old, so no musty smell. All original hardware and wood has been lightly sanded then sealed with a satin finish. New leather handles were put on. It has stress cracks and dings that add to the characture of the trunk. The measurements are: 32" long x 20" wide x 21" tall. Shipping, packing and insurance will cost $89.00. Book is called"Key of Heaven" Book is dated May 3. 1900. Book has very ornate designs and an indented cross on the front cover. Absolutelt great antique and religious book. CONDITION For being over 100 years old and classified as a true antique. The book is in relatively great condition. Binding is still strong and has not been taped or rendered stronger by any means. There are some scuffs to the canvas cover around the edges and corners and to high points in the ornate design. Very front& back pages have been signed and dated with pencil by the books first few owners. No other writing on the pages upon a quick skim through them. No folding of any of the pages, ... moreother than the remnants of a few dog ears, no tape holding any of the pages together. Gold page lining is still visible, though it has begun its unfortnate fading of age. This is a truly brilliant book! Complete condition is documented in photographs. 1862 DATED IRON CUFF LINKS CIVIL WAR PERIOD WITH KEY NICE CONDITION
A nice pair of iron hand cuffs. Clearly authentically impressed as being patented in 1862. The key is present and fits. Opening them is difficult, but I think a lubrication would likely do the trick.but they are being sold as complete, original key, but as is due to the mechansim being difficult to work as found. However, considering the date these certainly are Civil War period, if not military issue, at least available at the time for police or military use. They measure in length about 10 1/2" There is some light oxidation on the surfaces, but nothing unsightly and in fact appropriate for their age. Shipping the set to any US destination will be $8.00. The notch carving is very fine and very small which is what one would want. Making it in this fashion takes hundreds of hours to produce. There are several different designs: circles. Diamonds, strips of carving, etc. All the sides are decorated with extensive carvings as is of course the top as well. There is a key and the key works to unlock and lock the box. The hinged lid is decorated with burgundy red velvet, a round mirror surrounded by Tramp Art Carving, the carved initials TD and the carved date 1893. Very nice old clock. Measures 28" long from top of Eagle to bottom point of clock. Glass on clock face is 6" across and in very nice condition. Shows no signs of cracks. Chips, or breaks.Shows a picture of what I believe to be Monticello on box which opens to reveal chimes and pendulum. This access box also has glass covering the picture and shows no cracks or other damage. A neat picture of George Washington is shown between clock face and access box on stem of clock. On the back of clock there is the original sticker that came with clock. Tells you how to set clock and chimes. This tag also shows the date of manufacture as 4-41. Clock runs great, chiming a light tone on the half hour and a light tone followed by deeper chime sound for the top of each hour, IE 1 for 1 o'clock, 2 for 2 o'clock, etc.Inside the acces box there ... moreis a receipt for work done on the striker dated 1992. This receipt also shows 4/41 as the date shipped from the manufacturer. Clock does have a key, but I don't know if it the original or a replacement. I found this clock at a local estate sale and have had it running for over a week. It has chimed on time, every time during this span. After an exam and several tests, over the next few days, it was determined he could not survive outside of his oxygenated incubator and that he had to have lung surgery. He had successful surgery and had part of his left lung removed. The surgery was not uneventful, however. His first incision was too low and he had to be"re-cut, up higher and closer to his lung. Thus, leaving him two scars to sport around as souvenirs of his life saving operation. He also had to be revived back to life two times during the surgery. I am happy to say that the operation was a success and he just celebrated his 10th Birthday, recently. He is a strapping, beautiful, male African lion who shares his home with"Shanie" a female lion.
