But you'll ... morebe bidding on the far rarer"reeded" version(KM# 61.2) for the lowest possible starting bid of 1 cent! This coin has seen some circulation. But there is still plenty of nice, bold detail visible throughout the coin. Vittorio Emanuele III's hair is still lightly visible in spots, along with his mustache hair. There are bold borders detailing his forehead and hair, and his collar and the rest of his clothes and neck. His ear is still fully visible and not blended in with the rest of his head, and same goes with his nose and eyes. You can even see the bags under his eyes, eyelid, and inner ear detail. The"G. Romagnoli" signature at the bottom of the obverse is still mostly readable, but is hard to see since it's so small and near the peripheral. On the reverse. You can still make out each individual lion, all of which have nice detail still present, notably on their manes. The seated Aequitas still has some detail too, notably in the legs and throne. The mint mark"R" is still readable, but showing some wear since it's near the peripheral. All wording on both sides of the coin are readable. There are no major rim dings or dents and no major surface scratches. Dents or dings. There are some minor hairline scratches due to circulation, but the coin is in otherwise pretty nice shape. This RARE REEDED piece would make a wonderful addition to someone's Italian. European, or World coin collection. I would put this coin somewhere in the VF+ range. But I am not certified to grade coins, so what I say isn't official. My grading is based on many years of collecting coins, researching them, and observing more professional numismatists grade coins. 1921-R Kingdom of Italy 50 Centesimi RARE REEDED VARIETY NICE GRADE KM# 61.2
Up for auction is a spectacular piece. You will be bidding on a nicely kept 1921-R 50 Centesimi from the Kingdom of Italy. Not only that. But you'll be bidding on the far rarer"reeded" version(KM# 61.2) for the lowest possible starting bid of 1 cent! This coin has seen some circulation. But there is still plenty of nice, bold detail visible throughout the coin. Vittorio Emanuele III's hair is still lightly visible in spots, along with his mustache hair. There are bold borders detailing his forehead and hair, and his collar and the rest of his clothes and neck. His ear is still fully visible and not blended in with the rest of his head, and same goes with his nose and eyes. You can even see the bags under his eyes, eyelid, and inner ear detail. The"G. Romagnoli" signature at the bottom of the obverse is still mostly ... morereadable, but is hard to see since it's so small and near the peripheral. On the reverse. You can still make out each individual lion, all of which have nice detail still present, notably on their manes. The seated Aequitas still has some detail too, notably in the legs and throne. The mint mark"R" is still readable, but showing some wear since it's near the peripheral. All wording on both sides of the coin are readable. There are no major rim dings or dents and no major surface scratches. Dents or dings. There are some minor hairline scratches due to circulation, but the coin is in otherwise pretty nice shape. This RARE REEDED piece would make a wonderful addition to someone's Italian. European, or World coin collection. I would put this coin somewhere in the VF+ range. But I am not certified to grade coins, so what I say isn't official. My grading is based on many years of collecting coins, researching them, and observing more professional numismatists grade coins.
