Up for bid we have an absolutely beautiful antique hand painted Russian Iverskaya icon with a handmade brass oklad and colorful enamel halo decoration. This is a 19th century piece featuring the Iverskaya virgin holding a young Christ in her arms. The scene is hand painted on wood. Covered by the oklad, and backed with an orange felt/velvet type of fabric. The text on the oklad directly beneath the image reads"Iverskaya" in the old Cyrillic. As you may expect with a piece this old, there are a few condition issues, all of which are visible in the photos, none of which are major.
