It is a traditional colonial style made of solid ... moremaple It measures 40 inches across- it is 19 inches deep and about 29 1/2 inches tall. There are 3 drawers down the left side- all in very good working condition and one drawer across the top. It is sort of a nutmeg color- very pretty. It has very nice brass fittings/pulls. There is some minor cosmetic wear but over all- it's in very good condition. Any streaks you see are part of the wood grain- there is no damage to the wood. It wasn't used all that much when it was purchased in the early 1960's and was mostly used for storage in the last 50 years. The top has always been covered. There is a Heywood Wakefield mark in the drawer. I am listing this as local pick up only. Desk is located about 25 miles north of Boston in Massachusetts. So I'm not sure where to start with this absolutely splendid mid-century modern streamlined tanker desk. ... moreIt has a tag on the lower right drawer that identifies the manufacturer as ASE(All-Steel Equipment) of Aurora, Illinois. It seems to be all steel apart from the desktop itself, which is tan formica or something similar. So let's give you some measurements. First. From the floor to the desktop is about 30" Second, it is about 60" wide and 30" deep, and the knee space between the two banks of drawers is about 25" It has two pullout keyboard shelves, one on each side, three undivded drawers on the left, a shallow center drawe with four small compartments at the front, and two divided drawers on the right. The top one is fitted with a metal business form organizer, and the deeper one below has a single vertical divider that can be adjusted by sliding it forward or back. As the pictures show. It has some overal surface scuffing and scratching, with rust just beginning to show through, indicating it might be time to strip it and upcycle it into something a but brighter or more colorful. Or leave it just the way it is is if you're oging for the used and worn look. We are also including the chair we found it with. Although it is more like a dining chair than a desk chair. It has three small pull out drawers on the inside with the middle drawer having a lift up mirror and there are three larger drawers below the desk area. The inside of the desk also has a couple of cubby shelves. If you look below the second shelf you can see someone has cut a small hole to pass cords through. I could not find any markers markings but I am guessing from other items in the house of this estate sale it is Danish and probably from the 60's or 70’s. This is a Arne Jacobsen style desk and seven chair. The desk is in excellent vintage condition. It is finished on the back. It has classic Danish long peg legs. The Formica top has a nice boat shape rather than traditional rectangle. It is apartment or student size. This is part of a series of painted furniture that I do with my soon to be 86 year old Dad. He enjoys keeping busy and feeling useful. I do procurement and creative design and he runs the shop. The drawers had some scratches so we decided to paint them I had a seven style chair and so we matched the two pieces through the same paint color. The desk and chair we not an original set. The chairs measure: 31" from the tip of the backrest down to the floor 17" from the seat down to the floor The seat is 19" wide The widest part of the backing is 16" wide These chairs were Made In Scandinavia There are no apparent tears in the vinyl fabric at all. These are originals and have been in my grandparents home since they were purchased in the 1950's. Vintage Alvar Aalto desk. Made in Sweden for Artek. This desk dates back to the late 1950s and in overall excellent condition. Made of birch, the top is beautiful with great birch graining and very clean, with no scratches or signs of wear to speak of. There is a little soiling in one of the drawers and a small crack at the very bottom of the inside of the desk that can be seen in the last photo. The desk is heavy and very solid. It is exceptionally well made and yet very simple with its clean modern lines. The stool is not included. Please note the measurements, the desk is several inches lower than an average desk. As I don’t see any markings(except for the number 0102 on the inside support near the bulb) The entire lamp is made of metal(pretty heavy) and takes a standard size bulb(not included) The base has a couple of very minor small spots of surface rust and it has a couple of very minor dimple dings, otherwise its in great condition. Vintage Diax Tensor 7100 Desk Table Wall Task Light Lamp-Eames Era Mid-Century
This is a very cool articulating Diax lamp made by Tensor that can either be wall-mounted or just set on a desk. It's a folding/adjustable small lamp and is therefore very portable. It's made of gold-tone metal and cream plastic. It definitely has an Eames Era/Mid-Century look to it. The lamp is in excellent vintage condition with no imperfections to even make note of. There are only very minor signs of wear here and there. It entire lamp measures about 19" tall when the arm is extended all the way out. The length of the cone measures just over 3" and its diameter about 2 1/4" at its opening. The base measures about 4 1/2" x 2 1/4" The lamp folds up to about 10" x 3" Please note this lamp works great and it does come with a functioning bulb!
