This is a beautiful cast metal eagle. This is a finial/arhitectural piece that dates to the late 1800's/early 1900's. The piece stands approximately 18.75" high. The base of this is approximately 5.5" square. Finely detailed the wings and head have feathers that look real. The talons are wrapped around what looks like a rock. Each talon has multiple lines giving it life like qualities as well. The front of the eagle has a finely feather detailed chest with a well defined beak and eyes. Some darkening to the original gold finish. A rusty scratch in the base which I believe to be from removing this from a rusty metal pole. Vintage Heavy Solid Metal 6 5/8" Flag Pole Topper/Finial Spear/Arrow Head
This finial appears to be older; however. I'm not an expert and cannot say for certain how old it may be. I believe that it's a flag pole finial, but I'm also not sure of this; it could be used as a fence post finial I suppose. I'm also not sure what metal it's made of. It has a gold-tone finish that appears to have wear. Please see the pictures for the details of this piece. I can tell you that it measures about 6 5/8 inches long with a diameter of 3/4" at the bottom. There is also a hole near the bottom for securing the finial to the pole. The spear portion is flat versus 3 dimensional. This piece is in decent used and vintage condition with some wear to the finish and perhaps a little bit of wear to the metal. It's fairly heavy for its size.

This vintage heavy metal finial is 10 inches long and 2-1/2 inches at its widest point. It has screw threads at its base; the ball has four decorative divots. The surface is aged. But there are no cracks or repairs– altogether in great vintage condition. I’m not sure what metal this finial is made of, but a magnet sticks to it and the piece weighs about a pound and a half.
