They remind me of the old Victorian style- maybe even a little gothic style flavor to them ~ they are so very pretty. They all have some rust on them and the one on the far left is quite rusty and has not been painted. Group of 11 Assorted Antique Brass Ball Finials, 1" to 1 3/4" Diameters
Group of 11 Antique Brass Ball Finial Up for your consideration is this group of 11 assorted antique brass ball finials. first there are four ball finials with a nice muted patina. Measures 1 3/4" diameter and about 2 1/4" tall, hollow interiors but very solid brass, threaded base, small dents on all but three, one base is bent. Next are three similar ball finials with the same dimensions, the brass on each is scratched and they are slightly lighter. Next is a pair of hollow lighter brass finials with exposed screws, they look like planets, no dents, measures 1 1/2" in diameter and tall. Last are two small brass finials.one is round and may not be brass, just may be a composition with wire coming out of the end, measures 1" in diameter; and the other has a nice shape with a long screw protruding from the end, measures ... more1 1/8" and wide at the widest point. Set of 4 hand-carved finials made out of oak Carved in a lancet pattern These fine pieces of woodwork were originally part of a pipe organ case. But they can find application as as accent or conversation pieces anywhere that fine handcrafted joinery is appreciated. These are over 100 years old and were machined out of oak. Two of them have the corners chamfered aparently in an attempt to clear an obstruction.
