Penn Antique Restoration. 31.5"x81" Antique Arched Door w/4 Raised Panels. Unusual. Antique door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Ohio. The door is made of solid, old pine and is painted on both sides. If you think that pine is a weak. Soft wood; please keep in mind that the wood milled from modern pine trees, which only grow for a few decades before they are cut down, is not the same quality as the wood that was milled by our forefathers from trees that were hundreds of years old. This door was built using the wood from mature pine trees, and exhibits the qualities of wood that has endured the test of time. As a result, it's physically harder, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and more insect and rot resistant than today's pine lumber. The door has an arched top with 4 raised panels on both sides. Quirks& ... moreConsiderations: The door originally had a 5th panel at the bottom. But I believe that it was removed to let a pet cross between rooms. We could make and add a new panel- email us for a quote. The height of the door is slightly uneven. It doesn't look like it was modified. And it just looks like that was the way it was built-possibly a custom-build door? The lock stile is a 1/4" taller than the hinge stile. The door is made of wrought iron or steel and features 2 removable window panels with tempered, safety glass. On the exterior side of the door, there is a strip of lovely scrollwork spanning across the center of the door. Directly above and below the strip, are 3, vertical bars and a 2 beautiful, ornate vine, leaf, and acorn motifs. The door and details are painted black. Hardware: The door comes equipped with a handle with push button latch-activator(no key. But currently unlocked) and a lever and latch. And had 2 internal slide bolts installed in the top and bottom its current hinge stile. It was later used as a single door, and as you could see from the photos, a lock was installed in the opposite side from the slide bolts. Pair 60"x90" Restored Antique Gothic Revival Red Oak Double Entry Exterior Doors
Penn Antique Restoration. 60"x90" Restored Antique Gothic Oak Double Entry Doors. WOW! Grand pair of antique doors salvaged from an old church in New York City. Each door has a solid pine core covered with 1/4" thick red oak veneers. Please don't think"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern furniture to disguise the inferior materials underneath; these veneers are very thick and help strengthen and stabilize the door. As well as protect it against warping. Solid oak doors would've warped a long time ago. The doors have 6 panels on each side: 2 square on top. 2 long, rectangular in the middle, and 2 square on bottom. On the front side, the panels have beautifully- carved, Gothic quadrafoils and ogee arches. On the back side, the panels are raised. Hardware: Besides the ... moremail door and cover. The doors do not come with any hardware. The stunning. Sargent" cast bronze handles and push plates shown in the photos are being offered to buyer of these doors first. We bought them from the same place we bought the doors, and even though they weren't found with the doors, they are perfect for them! We know the hardware could sell quickly; we posted an identical handle and push plate set before and it only lasted 3 days on eBay.
