All pieces are in very good condition with a nice patina– I have not cleaned or polished anything; I will leave that up to the new owner, if so desired. One of the plates is missing its swiveling keyhole cover, the other is intact. Knobs are stamped“R. E. MFG. CO. SOLE AGENTS– MFG’D BY MET. COMP. CAST. CO. The shafts of the knobs are also marked with a June 7. 1870. Lockset does not have a key. But a skeleton key replacement shouldn’t be too hard to find if you want to actually lock it. lot antique Victorian backplates & doorknobs vintage skeleton key lock hardware
I have a lot of very old Victorian period doorknobs with matching backplates. These come to you with some old paint and finish that will clean for a new finish if you wish. No bends or breaks in the knobs or plates. Door knobs are. One side fixed pin, other side is a standard set screw for a three piece 1/4 inch mortise drive. Designed for a skeleton key mortise lock. Fixed pin can be easily be removed with a punch if you want to remove the drive rod and use the knobs for something else. I left the rod attached in the event you were needing the set for original intent reuse on your repair, replacement, collection or vintage renovation. Nice authentic, original period hardware. I have a nice lot of 7 antique pressed glass door knobs for your consideration. Upon close inspection there are no cracks or chips. There is however a very very small flea bite along the outside edge of one of the knobs that you would not see unless you are looking for it. One of the knobs will need a dab of liquid cement since it does not seat properly in the brass collar if you will be reusing for its original intent. Nice reusable lot for possibly that hard to find match for your repair. Replace or vintage renovation. Fabulous lot for the collector or creative repurpose art mind. Would display well too. Set screws all spin freely for seating on a standard 1/4 inch threaded mortise driverod. Questions welcome other wise what you see is what you get. Flat ship is 9.90 to the lower 48 United States. Mixed Lot of Antique Doorknobs& Hardware Knobs ~ Door Plates ~ Locks ~ Hinges Ornate Victorian Style Bronze? Metal Construction In Various Stages of Wear These were found at a local estate. I do not know much about these types of items; such as how to grade their condition and function so please ask any questions before bidding if I have missed a detail. I will describe everything I see but please use the pictures as a big part of the description. It is a mixed lot with a few of the same and being sold AS IS since I do not know how to test or grade their condition. That is not to say I won't accept a return. I just want you to understand that I am limited in this area. The condition overall is pretty good and these are quite ornate. From what I have found they are antiques. With 2 of the locks stamped"Sargent" the small ... morecylinder style says"Dexter" and the 2 larger one's are unmarked. There aren't any keys for me to test the ones with locks(the 2 larger unmarked one's) One is rusted pretty bad and not sure of the lock will release but the latch works. I am unsure if they are brass or bronze but if I had to guess, bronze. The patina is darker than brass with some green so I suppose some copper. There is surface rust here and there, some worse than others, but I think it can easily be cleaned on most. One of the plates is pretty rus ty and a portion of one of the knobs is corroded with some rust and green. Antique Victorian Brass SIlver Beehive Doorknobs - Georgian Style -early 1800s
Three early Victorian(or late Georgian) antique brass beehive style doorknobs with silvered rosette back plates. These lovely doorknobs. Georgian in style, were bought in London in the 1960's. And were dated from the early 1800's, possibly a bit older. I know I broke a cardinal rule, but they were really darkly tarnished, so to see better what they were, I recently polished them. Though they could still use a bit more polish, their tone has mellowed nicely in the past few weeks. I found that the knobs are actually pale yellow brass plate over an unknown base metal(they're quite heavy so possibly iron or Britannia metal? and the rosettes appear to be silver-plate. maybe nickel silver over solid brass, though they were tarnished& now show a sheen like good silver plate when polished. The brass& silver on all three knobs ... morehave a beautiful aged patina. Even freshly polished. Two of the knobs are in very good antique condition, consider these a'set' with some light dings scattered over the beehive rings& at the'bulls-eye' at the knob tip on one knob. There is some light wear to the silver-plate at their stems, from years of polishing. The third knob's brass surface is damaged, with some chipped loss of the plating in several areas, though most of the brass remains. There's also some surface loss at the base of the knob stem on this one. I didn't do a thorough job of polishing the rosettes, so it's difficult to tell what's tarnish or possibly, surface wear, but all three rosettes have most, if not, all of their silver surface. Two knobs have their original spindles or turn shafts: the spindle in'good condition' knob is longer than the other in the damaged knob. There is some light rust on their surface. Which could be easily removed. No other screws or hardware came with them. The'set of very good' knobs loosely measures 8" L fit together. And the rosette slides to accommodate door thickness. All three measure 3 1/4" L from the rosette

This is a huge lot of vintage doorknobs. Pieces and parts. I don't have a great description of what exactly the parts are, but these all came off our 1929 Tudor style house when we got some things renovated. Includes: 13 knobs-glass/crystal/metal 6 latches 1 locking plate 7 knob settings Mostly just check out the photos of all that's included. I'm sorry I do not have more details. Things are old, many things have paint on them, some are a little tarnished, you can definitely tell that they have been around awhile. Just need a little care. Four Sets Antique Victorian Doorknobs. Plates, Locks c1885 by Mallory Wheeler. It's hard to find the right antique hardware for your home. And much harder to find enough of it. Enough to fit four doors, these four sets are by Mallory Wheeler and were made around 1885. The eight handsome doorknobs and eight doorplates have a vernacular Victorian geometric design. The knobs are cast brass and the plates cast iron with brass collars- we like the contrasting hues very much. The mortises locks are a match; two are brass with slight bends and two are cast iron. These locks(which can be easily reversed for either hand door) are in fine working order with newer keys. All of these pieces are in very good to excellent condition with light wear(note one scrape on a doorknob- see pic) We include the rods and rod screws. Such elegant sets. Doorplates ... moremeasure 1 5/8" wide and 5 1/4" tall. Mortise lock faceplates are 1" by 5 1/2" depths of boxes are 3 1/4" and heights are 3 3/4" They have 2 3/8" setback to center of doorknob shaft and 2" from doorknob to center of keyhole.
