It has burl walnut trim on the fronts with an ogee bevel edge around the routed top. It has a black felt interior on the writing surface that is nice. The finish on the sides is amazing. It has panel sides, rope twisted molding, detail cast brass hardware, escutcheons are intact. There are no keys or locks. The desk is 48 inches wide, 27 inches deep and 30 inches tall. This fine desk measures 45 1/2 inches in height to the top of the gallery at the back.Height to the top at the front measures 46 inches, with a total width of 48 inches, total depth of 26 inches and this desk weighs approximately 200 lbs. The pull out writing surface measures 41 inches wide by 21 inches deep and height from the floor to the top of the writing surface measures 30 inches. The knee hole height of the desk portion measures 25 1/4 inches and knee-hole width measures 18 3/4 inches. The cylinder portion of this desk raises and lowers very smoothly and has a large brass lock mechanism on the bottom which is marked: Indianapolis Cab. Co Pat. The lock is intact but we do not have the key. The inner desk portion is beautiful maple with a multitude of various sizes of storage drawers and cubbies.The old green felt on the pull out writing surface appears original and does show some wear and some spots. The left offers a stack of four storage drawers with period dove-tailed ends and the original pulls. To the right another drawer is found with a storage cabinet below. The lock is missing from the cabinet door. As you can see in the pictures this desk could easily be in the center of a room for it is as lovely on the back as the front and is finished beautifully all the way around. This Victorian Eastlake cylinder roll desk circa 1880 is in fabulous antique condition. The desk comes with four raised panel dove tail drawers that retain all the original hardware. The center where the legs go have a reverse cove carving, which I have never seen in oak. It has a scallop bottom trim base, raised panels all the way around and a wide bevel edge on the solid tiger sawn oak top. The only negatives I see on the desk is that there is a little wear on the edge of the top from rubbing against something and there is a split going down the center of the top. We most likely could pull the top off and repair the top, which wouldn’t make a huge difference, but it is an expensive repair. The desk itself is high end quality.

This roll-cylinder secretary features a wonderful ... moreheavy carved crest, and dates from the 1880's. It comes with three original shelves that are adjustable behind the wavy glass doors. It has burl walnut panels coming down both sides, heavy crown molded top and a crest with big ball finials on each end. It has a commode base with three drawers and a door. The only thing I don’t like about this cylinder desk is that the finish is light, similar to a cherry, but it is walnut wood. It has the original heavy bold brass hardware, and is in really nice shape. The pull-out writing surface has green felt on it. When you open the double panel cylinder roll, it reveals a simplistic double drawer interior that is simplistic.

This auction features a stunning Eastlake style secretary desk. This unique piece stands 68 inches tall at the center and is 30 inches wide and 18 inches in depth. This is a two-piece secretary which makes moving it a whole lot easier. What caught my eye on this piece was it was a davenport desk. But instead of the typical slant front, this one has a secretary section on top. This is not a married piece, these two started life together, guaranteed. The top has nice intricate Eastlake type of carvings and half pinwheels surround the gallery. The desk top or writing surface drop downs to reveal a nice writing desk. Complete with great little cubbyholes and two drawers. There are no drawers missing, and all the hardware on this piece is original. We have the original key and it is included. This is the sweetest little desk ever! Measures 25" wide x 19" tall at back splash x 14 1/2" deep. The desk is dark oak with a leather top middle section. When next section is opened it has 2 black boards and when opened again has a drawer type well for books etc. The desk is sturdy and not rickety. Has a pencil groove along the top and we are including an old eraser. The old metal hinges still work well. Has sweet little mortised legs with curved feet. Nice details all over this desk. Antique CAST IRON Desk Paper Weight Clip Letter Holder - AESTHETIC Eastlake
From a local estate- Nice old cast iron paper weight clip- or letter opener made from cast iron with an Aesthetic Movement or Eastlake design. Measures about 4 3/8 long. Can lay on a desk or has a hole on the back side for hanging. It is in very good used condition. I did find that the right side of the clamp closes tighter than the left. It holds a single sheet of paper a bit loosely and does better on 2 or more sheets. I didn't wash this and on the inside recesses there is a bit of dust. You can see a bit of wear to the finish from use on the lower section but it really isn't obvious and doesn't take away from the piece. Very nice piece for your collection! Amazing Early Eastlake Secretary Desk Vintage Antique Office Unique design. In good condition for age, though not exactly sure what year this was made. The writing surface is lightly tilted. Previous owner replaced desk insert with a piece of vinyl, this could easily be removed and replaced with a leather insert. Se pics for more condition details. Top piece rests on top of desk. It is not mounted down. Set up, this piece measures 4 feet 2 inches wide by 5 feet 1 inch tall. The bottom section is 2 feet 7 inches deep while the top piece is 1 foot deep. This fine 19th century desk features its original brass Eastlake hardware with the key working all the locks on the drawers. The large flat desk top has vintage green felt on the writing surface with a center drawer below with divided compartments and four locking drawers on each side of the knee hole area. Pieces like these are extremely hard to find and this size. This Victorian Eastlake piece is completely original, from a Hudson Valley Estate. The top features a two-door cabinet for transferware dishes, or could be used in a library for books. The glass is original wavy glass used from that time period. There are two adjustable shelves. The middle features a drop down desk complete with lock and key, original letter and paper slots, two drawers with milk glass knobs. The bottom features three drawers with original locks. Antique carved walnut escutcheon keyhole covers and stamped brass and ebonized wood teardrop finial handles. It comes to us from an 78 year old lady who acquired it from her mothers old barn. The stuff she brought us had been stored and untouched for at least 40 years. It was most likely a one of a kind creation from an Ohio farmer or carpenter. The secretary was rough planed and you can still see the circular saw marks(see pictures) The circular saw was invented in 1830s. So the secretary was made no earlier than 1830. A wonderful example of the Eastlake style. This piece is estimated to have been produced around 1890, toward the end of the Victorian era of design. The simplicity of design of this splendid piece is more in the lightly adorned style that Eastlake preferred. Much of his work was interpreted with more embellishment. Generally disdained by the influential designer. This example in finished in butternut glaze on solid cherry wood. Details such as the unique drawer facing dovetailing are common to the designs of Eastlake. The dimensions of this item are 51 inches high. 29 1/2 inches wide at the top and 15 1/4 inches deep with the desk panel folded up into the unit.
