These were created by the ... moreKoenic Brothers of New Jersey. Jacob Koenig came to the US in the late 1800's and started the business. He was given a patent. USD39822S to design a Niche or a Shrine in 1909. However the last station on this piece reads that it was copyrighted in 1904. It is in great condition. Nothing is missing and the scrolls works nicely! The glass does have some paint loss which I show in the pictures, but note the remaining paint seems very secure. The metal crucifix is in very nice condition as is the chalkware statue below it. I do not think this had a water font bowl, since I do not see any indication on the cross of nail holes that would have held it. This even still has it's hanger on the back. The wood patina is rich and beautiful, possibly professionally redone? Please note the scroll paper does have crease lines on some of the stations. But it turns smoothly. Most of the stations have great color, some are a little faded. I will ship the glass off the item. Since I think that I can ensure it's safe arrival to you better that way, but it is very easy to put back on and push in the metal clips. I hope that you appreciate this amazing crucifix. Very good, light wear to exterior gilding, minor light scattered wear to silver on interior. No dents, scratches or stains, could use a light cleaning. The center piece is loose, needs to be reglued. Vintage Standing Crucifix Mother of Pearl OliveWood Stations ofthe Cross V Fine
It is a magnificent acquisition for the season of Lent or Passiontide. This standing crucifix made of grained olive wood and decorated in a mosaic like fashion with pieces of Mother of Pearl(nacre) From the Mediterranean region was a memento of a person's pilgrimage to the Holy Land about 50 years ago and subsequently given to a community of religious in my area. The cross on its pediment base is 13 1/2" tall, 6" across and stands on an expanded base 3 1/2 by 1 5/8" Earth from the14 traditional Stations of the Cross which a pilgrim may walk in Jerusalem, is impacted behind the centers of the small mother of pearl discs on the reverse, along with the word JERUSALEM, which is inscribed in the center. Other features include a hand cast pewter corpus(almost full figure) mounted on the front. 1904 Koenig Brothers Antique Wood Crucifix Scrolling 14 Stations of the Cross Ca
I found this amazing treasure at an estate sale! It measures a little over 25.5" tall. 10.5" wide, 3.5" deep. These were created by the Koenic Brothers of New Jersey. Jacob Koenig came to the US in the late 1800's and started the business. He was given a patent. USD39822S to design a Niche or a Shrine in 1909. However the last station on this piece reads that it was copyrighted in 1904. It is in great condition. Nothing is missing and the scrolls works nicely! The glass does have some paint loss which I show in the pictures, but note the remaining paint seems very secure. The metal crucifix is in very nice condition as is the chalkware statue below it. I do not think this had a water font bowl, since I do not see any indication on the cross of nail holes that would have held it. This even still has it's hanger on the ... moreback. The wood patina is rich and beautiful, possibly professionally redone? Please note the scroll paper does have crease lines on some of the stations. But it turns smoothly. Most of the stations have great color, some are a little faded. I will ship the glass off the item. Since I think that I can ensure it's safe arrival to you better that way, but it is very easy to put back on and push in the metal clips. I hope that you appreciate this amazing crucifix. OAK WOOD METAL JESUS CRUCIFIX STATIONS OF CROSS ALTER EASTER Mid Century Modern
Up for your consideration is this great estate find! Acquired at a priests estate. I was told this vintage, Mid Century Modern era, House Alter came from Germany, circa 1940's/1950's. The alter is made of oak wood with stamped brass stations of the cross medallions and a brass finished Jesus. The alter also has two taper candle holders with brass inserts and a brass finished holy water cup holder(missing plastic cup) The piece measures 11 1/2" tall x 11 1/4" wide x 4 3/4" deep. It is in great vintage condition showing some minor dings on one of the candlestick arms(see photos 6) I love the modernist station of the cross medallions.
