Lot of 2 Vintage Lion's Head Shelf Bracket Supports Corbels
These two plaster lion's heads purportedly came from the old Aragon Ballroom in Chicago during the 20's and 30's but take that bit of trivia with a grain of salt as that is what we were told by the seller. My wife and I have had them since 1963 and they were old when we acquired them at an auction outside of Chicago. We used them as decorations for many years but they no longer suit our decorating style. They are being sold as a pair. They measure 14" tall. 6" wide and 8" deep. They are made of plaster and have brackets molded into them through which I installed bolts to support them. They weigh a bit over 8 lbs each. One has some damage at the top where it supports the shelf but I think that is easily repairable.

I was planning on using these on my front porch but went with a totally different design scheme. Here you have six corbels that were handmade and found at an estate sale. They are made of wood. A soft wood, not sure what kind. They would need a good coating of stain/primer and painted. or leave unfinished. I really love the design on these, a really nice pattern. It would look great for shelving but would need some material to fatten them up a little. FOUR HUGE SOLID BRAZILIAN ROSEWOOD CORBELS SHELF BRACKETS MID CENTURY DANISH
These are really great pieces. They are hand carved solid Brazilian rosewood and are from the early 1900s. Some misguided person painted them white at some point and they have been partially stripped but need finishing. They are fifteen inches long by a inch and five eights thick. The flat base is four inches and the wool is solid. The wood in these is amazing, it has lots of figure and a beautiful color, in the pictures two appear darker because they have a light oil on them but when they are cleaned up they will all be the same color. Solid old growth Brazilian(especially this old) is very hard to come by these days and these are just beautiful pieces.

These are a LARGE Vintage PAIR Of Shelf BRACKETS Each measures 17 3/16" by 12" Each part that would touch a wall.and or a shelf.measures 1 7/16" wide.AND Each"SCROLLWORK" design measures 11/16" wide. Each has a hole at the top and base to attach securely to a wall. They are NOT new.I am not sure exactly of their age.maybe 30 or so years old? They are VERY Usable! They are STRONG!
